Coil Over Lifespan
I was researching coil overs the other day and finally decided I wanted to get the omni power set. According to a post on the retail forum they will be coming out really soon, which doesn't matter to me cuz I don't have money yet.
But my real question is, how long do coil overs last? In my excitement to research it never occured to me what the lifespan of coil overs were until last nite. I stumbled across this site ( http://www.robearracing.com/pd_omnipower.cfm ) After scrolling to the bottom I noticed there was a street and a track and both had numbers next to them.
STREET KIT(10k/8k)
SPORT KIT (12k/10k)
Was that the lifespan of the coil overs?
I was wondering if anyone can throw me some input on how long coil overs really last. Thanks!

If they're rebuildable, infinitely.
even without a rebuild, if you're driving around on the street with them, and you take care of them, they should outlast the car assuming you follow their instructions for drop height recommendations and stuff.
If you have plans on racing, then probably not as long... thats where the rebuild part comes in handy.

Rep Power: 424 Flexes are, I don't know about the SS or Basics. Plan on it being mad money and a long wait though, they probably have to go back to Japan.

Are rebuilds costly?
Koni shocks are $180 per pair (360 a set), and done right here in the US by a network of regional shops
a lot of the "JDM" coilovers are about $1000 for a full rebuild and often have to go back to Japan to be done.
So I guess you can plan on about 60-75% the price of new to rebuild the set.
