you could have a broken spring, your steering knuckle could be messed up (unlikely)....there are alot of problems that could cause a "popping sound".. Jack up your car and take a look see. If you have been doing alot of burn outs or driving your car really rough i would also check the cv joints after you check the suspension.

If you have after market springs, the spring may have to be re seated because you could have hit a bigger bump and it may have unsteated its self to the point when you turn its clicking into the right spot.

I had this exact same problem last fall. Luckily, my car (02) was still under warranty. You have a bad strut assembly, most likely the front left or front right.

Honda replaced three of mine until they got the bad one, since they knew it was the strut, but could not visually tell any damage.

Yea, i have noticed alot are no good, thats why im appling there even tho ill be certified for toyota after the semister.

Your best bet is to bring it to honda, they will tell you the problem and it should be covered but if its not and its something simple just tell them you dont have money now and you will bring it back later. Then just go home and fix it.

ah ok...thanx alot...but yah, i jave been going over soem nasty bumps lately, but the clicking only happen sometimes when i make a sharp turn (like into a parking space) and my regualr driving is uneffected and there are no noises. While i got yall here, i gotta ask....why does my car vibrate so much on the inside (even when the stereo is off)!!?? My friends 2-door coupe seems very solid compared to mine....no rumbles at all!! just seems to me like my car is shakey....it drives fine and all and i dotn hear outside noise too much, but the constand vibrating and rumbling is odd...any suggestions ?!?!

this is also why im afraid to get my exhaust system....i dont want it to enhance the vibrating of my door panels (or w/e) and have them rumble all the time...will that even really happen ?

skiboard is on a distinguished road
if you are hearing poping sound from front suspension, it might be your spring moving around. I had a same problem after lowering. I fixed it with new ball joints but it sometimes happens when it's cold

Check/Have Honda check your motor mounts. If you threw a mount, than the engine vibration will translate into the chassis.

Check the bolt on the top of the strut, the nylon locking bolt that attaches to the strut piston it might be a little loose. Happens sometimes. That should fix it. Let me know if it does.

so u think it may be an engine mount?? hmmmm...last time i told them it was the door panels that seemed to rumble and they "couldnt find anything" ,......i dunno if it is a mount tho cuz it never really vibrates when im idle or anything....usually when im moving and when my stereo is on! it really bothers me...even if it is the interior, what could it be and can they fix it? cuz some of the inside parts dont seem so solid to me (not like they falling off or anything, but they just seem kinda...bleh). My friends' civics all seem solid and dont rumble when they drive.....any help is always appreciated!! hope honda dont fick me over here!!

Maybe. Maybe not. It definately was the strut on my car, but maybe your pop is a different kind of pop.

Is it kind of a thud ? or a higher-pitched pop?

Generally, torn/worn CV boots make audible noises in all turns, not just at extremes like he's describing.

Exactly. CV Joints/boots usually make a constant clicking noise while turning.

I would wager it's one of your struts. It translates through the pedals? If so-front strut, most likely.

You can try to resit them, if you have the means, but most likely Honda will want to replace them outright. I had mine replaced. The ride hasn't really changed at all with the new struts, just no more pop/thud.

true.....ive also noticed that the steering on my 4-door is a bit looser than the sterring on my frirnds 2-door....like her car can resist understerr a bit more and is a bit more solid than mine....is that the strut too, is that normal??
