Any Feedback on these Aftermarket OEM style Plastic Bumpers
Has Anyone used one of these Plastic OEM style Front Bumpers off of Ebay.
I'd like to hear about fitment and quality.

A Sedan front bumper will fit a Coupe (01-02) Correct?
This guy Garuntees the fitment
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33640
but he's not the cheapest

This guy is the cheapest, but has some pretty bad feedback...
thoughts are appreciated . . . .
and yes yes.. I've heard "you get what you pay for"
but lets face it it's just a big piece of plastic.
BTW i smacked up my bumper and need to replace it

yeah these bumpers are brands that make aftermarket (the original term is for places that make stock pieces but cheaper, not ricey stuff like its referred to today) parts for cars. if you have a car that is 2 years or older and you get into an accident i guarantee 99% of the time it is replaced with aftermarket parts like this. there is nothing wrong with them except sometimes you get very small fitment problems. my car has an aftermarket bumper same as these ones and it fits perfect. its not cheap like a body kit material it will not crack or chip off. it is same material of plastic as oem bumpers. (if you have a new car it is normally repaired with dealer parts)
id go for the middle one... the box you see under the box is tyc... always made oem replacement parts.. now known for the headlights tyc projectors.... chances are he orderd the bumper from same place he ordered whatever goes in that box (probly a cornerlamp).
i work at a body shop. you can push the insurance to pay for oem but most of the time unless you really push they wont do it. and if its older lik 5-6 yrs or more i highly doubt they would even consider it. also i dunno if the body shop(if ur using one) will do the work, i know alot of places where they say if you can get your own parts u can put them on too. (meaning they refuse to do just labor when someone buys the parts themselves.)

I'm pretty sure it's a law that you can get OEM parts.
however all the times I've been to a body shop (I wish I could say it's only been a few) I've gotten the money from the Insurance for OEM parts and put aftermarket parts on the car.
I'm planning on buying a Fender Front Bumper Cover and a Headlight, and fitting them on the car myself and then taking them to the body shop to be painted.
i think the mounts for the front of the bumper will need a little bit of banging to get the fender to fit back on right... But I'm sure I can get it to a point I'll be happy with.
This car is really just a great daily driver for me, I'm not looking to make it my toy car, and it doesn't haven't to be perfect if I can save a couple hundred bucks that I don't have.

cool.
it could be a law in ur state i dunno w/e i could be wrong too.
what you should do is find spray paint that is close to your car color and paint all the spots on the fender and bumper that arent visible when mounted (under hood and behind bumper. where the body shop wont be able to get too when its mounted) that way if there are small knicks or bare metal where u cant see it will be covered and not rust. just get like 320 grit sand paper and sand then wipe off real clean then spray a few light coats till its covered... dont bother doing the whole fender though

I was going to fit the parts and then take em off and bring em to the shop
the guy at the shop actually said he would need the bumper off of the car If I were to get an aftermarket

I checked the 2nd one, really good feedback, I would buy it from him, you may want to message one of the buyers on there that left feedback and ask them how well it fit, but he appears to be legit in my opinoin.

Damouse... I'm pretty darn sure that the bumpers are the same, but I think there is a small difference for the Front Grill section, but they are interchangable.
For the record, I purchased an aftermarket bumper and an aftermarket fender from one of the guys on ebay, it's a store called ABS Plastics. The Bumper Fits REALLY GOOD.
The fender has more of a gap behind the rear view mirror between the A pillar and the Fender. =\ I guess I'll have to live with that, but the fact that I spent $151 on the two parts SHIPPED, when OEM would of cost me $370 makes things a little bit better, and the fact that I am fitting them myself makes my deductable dissappear.
BTW ABS Plastics were pretty cool. I'd recommend them.
Thanks guys

Well, I just picked up a front bumper cover from Keystone Automotive here in Denver. It was $110 w/tax and I picked it up from their warehouse. I spotted it on before I dropped it off to get it painted. It was real tight around some spots, and the gapping around the headlights was a little inconsistent. But I guess it will do for now, considering a brand new one is ~$250 from a dealer. It looks exactly like the ones on eBay.

I just got my OEM spoiler in today and it looks great. Only paid $64. I was a little worried at first for such a low price but it looks real good. Fitment seems to be perfect. Came w/ all hardware and instructions

A new Front Bumper from the Dealer is $209. So the $110 is about half. It probably is the same exact one on Ebay.. Mine came from thiland to china or some junk. I shoulda took a picture of the Label on the Back of it.
I'm kinda glad to get a new one and get the whole thing painted.. at least now I won't have that black unpainted portion for the bottom air dam.
Penny, You shouldn't have any problems with an aftermarket factory style Spoiler. It's not as hard to fit as a fender or a bumper, the only thing that really matters is that they get the bottoms of the supports right, so you don't have huge gaps there, and if you use a foam washer, it'll really help hide any inconsistentcies. (sp?)
