exhibition of speed ticket
exhibition of speed ticket
hey guys
my friend got a ticket for [exhibition of speed] and [speeding in a 25mph zone, basic speed rule]. in the [] is the two different violations. apparently my friend wasn't tagged with a gun, but didn't ask/wasn't told how fast he was going... he said for sure he wasn't 'exhibiting speed', and when he saw the lights, he thought the cop wanted to pass, and was surprised when the cop pulled up behind him.. haha
i guess my question is this: is there anyway he can find out exactly how fast he was going? or was the cop required to write it down somewhere? cuz if they both show up at court, and the cop can't say how fast my friend was going other than 'he was going over 25' then i don't see much of a case...
anywayyy any comments would be good, or well, constructive comments

The citation should say the exact speed or say something like [35+] when the zone was a 25 mph zone...
For instance...I catch some guy on radar going 67 in a posted 45 mph zone. If I want I can just cite him for 65+...that way it becomes a civil cite and not a criminal one...and it saves him a couple bucks on the fine
And, if the officer used a radar then he had to somewhere put the serial # of the radar unit he was using so certification and calibration records can be looked up if needed
