late start
there are alot of topics coming up about crazy losses or close races that should not be close were the other driver got the lead from the go. Do you really understand that a good start is everything. As an example a Liberty(3.7) got about 3 cars before I knew we were racing I got to about 1/2 car by 80 and I quit. from the go I would own the hell out of that car, but with a lead that is a whole new game. A buddy of mine was driving a EVO (he owns a rx7) when a v8 (non hemi ram) pulled up and asked what he had.....he replyed "a hemi". The ram took off at the light and got some distance and my buddy caught up and owned in the EVO. He was impressed that he caught up 1 car off the line=atleast ~1sec, 1 car at the end = ~.10sec. That means that if we (5spd civic) lauched and got 1 car on a RSX typeS before they went, we would most-likley win. Remember that the next time you own a car that you should not have owned or get owned by a car that should not own you.
I launched on my buddy's RSX-S. He started from second to give me a fair chance. I got about 2 car lengths and he was right next to me by 50 then he took off. Good starts don't win every time, they just help a little.
