Mugen EP3/DC5 Aluminum LCA's on an EM2? & tire clearence question!
Mugen EP3/DC5 Aluminum LCA's on an EM2? Will this fit? I've been all through the parts diagrams for the knuckle assemblys for both the EM2 and EP3 civics and here's what I found: All the bolts and nuts are the same sizes and part #'s as are the LCA and compliance bushings.
Unfortunately I don't have an EP3 LCA handy to test fit and I don't feel like shelling out for one from a junk yard. The bushings on the EM2 are crap and with all the racing mine's had they're getting very sloppy. I figure I'll do the LCA's at the same time plus I can get a good deal on the mugen set so should I cross my fingers and go for it?
Also the mugen peice requires either the JDM EP3 or DC5 front sway bar so does anyone happen to have the JDM diameters and whether they're solid or hollow. This would be paired with a progress rear sway bar. The front DC5 sway bar does fit EM2's BTW, although the exhaust needs to be tweaked a couple inches to get it to clear properly.
Finally what kind of offset are people using to get 235 section tires under RSX fenders?? I've tried a few times to get 235's on 17x8 rims under my civic but they have trouble with the fenderwells under compression. Since the car's going to be raced I'm not concerned with rolling fenders but I don't want to lose a fenderwell liner to a bump.

Well you may want to make sure first that the LCAs are not for the DC5R, they are different than the DC5 and you're gonna need a lot more than the LCA to make it fit. I don't know of anyone thats dropped the $550 on them to test it, everyone who's busted bushings seems to just go out and buy the considerably cheaper ES bushing kit and has them pressed in. You're going to be hard pressed to get a 235 tire under the car, especially in the rear. Why do you need such a fat tire?
And what set of rules is this thing being built for?

King motorsports lists them for the USDM DC5 and EP3 and I swear I've seen them used on a couple of prepped RSX's. I'm getting the LCA's off of a freind who ordered them for his RSX type-s and put it into a tree while they were in the box in his garage. Nothing like the desperate for cash discount
I've got a 'new' '89 Si for full time autocross use so I'm going to use the '02 civic for daily driving and trackdays.
I don't have any rules in mind because I need to daily drive it and it's already got 90% of the stuff to make it a real weapon because it was previously fully prepped for STS. It just needs some finishing touches.
I'm vaugely planning a rear disc conversion and some Willwoods(not a big brake kit) up front if I can find the appropriate parts. I've got an EX tranny on a HX engine that's soon to be replaced with the mildly built EX engine in my garage that the EX tranny came from. After that though it'll be done. 2250lbs and ~120hp with a full suspension setup should be entertaining.
