Accord LX 4cyl or Altima 2.5S...
dad needs a new car because his old car (01 maxima gxe) was totalled.
these are the two he narrowed it down to, i like both, just wondering if you guys know anything more about them than i do.
the accord has an advantage because it has ABS and side airbags, its MSRP is $21,000 and the altima is $20,400. we can get the altima for $17.5k after rebates and the accord is $19k no rebates available.
what do you guys think?

any of you think that its worth it to spend $1.5k more and get ABS and side airbags? we cant get a 2.5S altima with those features, we would have to get a 2.5SL atleast and thats about $23k, more than we want to spend.
Did he like his maxima? Thats a nissan as well...if he enjoyed the car then I'd say go with the altima. If he hated the thing cause it was a POS then I'd say try the accord. Honestly I'd take the altima. My friend has one with an auto stick that thing pulls hard.

he liked the maxima a lot, but my civic is good and he likes hondas also.
he's going back tomorrow for a final look. he drives cars until they die, so resale is not an issue her, a good reliable car is.
altima seems to be getting the more nods though, bunch of accord haters on thee boards

I'm still feeling the Accord a lot better, it's very nice and luxurious compared to the Altima which is aiming for a sportier image. The Accord gets better gas-mileage too. You can't beat Honda reliability unless you're Toyota, which isn't on the list.

$20k limit is what he set himself, so i think the maxima is out of the question. sucks though, his maxima was only $22k when he got it in 2000, but now they bumped it up a notch and it starts at like $27k.
whatever he gets should be here tomorrow, so i might have pics up, i hope he gets a nice color though.

out of the two, def accord, no question hands down. NEVER buy a NISSAN. altimas are butt ugly, i hate those things. what you should consider is a camry, now those things are hottt as well.
accord/camry > altima
accord/camry > altima
I'd get an Altima, mainly because it looks a lot better and has more power than the accord and has an all new interior for 05. Reliability may not be as good as accord but it can't be too bad.
I say go for the altima! Altima looks better than the accord. It has 175 hp which is 15 more than the accord. Interior refinement, however, is not as good as that of the accord. But in the end, the altima is sportier and more stylish than the accord.

Oh common what a question the Accord beats the altima hands down...Nissan has recently given and extended warraty on their cars because of all the problems they are having with the models..
My friend just bought a Quest 2004 and he has been at tha garage at least 10 times

gonna be hard to tell my dad that nissans reliability isnt good, considering that i have had 5-6 warranty issues with my civic and his maxima never had one.
he's out looking right now, just a matter of time before i find out what he chose.

well, he went for the accord.
he called me to tell me he bought an EX 4cyl instead of the LX 4cyl. i forgot to ask which color, but he'll be here soon so i'll find out then, hope its not beige, yuck!

Good Choice! - I would've went for the accord as well. I liek the Accord EX much better then the Altima. I like the EX Coupe even better but I guess that was not really an option. Good luck with it - I hope it's just as reliable as my old accord - my parents last accord lasted 14 years until we sold it - but hey - it's still on the road!
nissan ****ing sucks. the reliability is shity. also why would nissan let people buy theyre **** without paying a cent. Its because nissan sucks and they need to get sales up.
I would stick with the honda even though the nissan is more faster.
thats why you see all the poor people driving altimas. Its because they couldnt afford a down payment. The car will probably be repo'd after 1 year knowing they cant afford it.
MUAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

I love the new 4 door accords. My friend has one on 17"s dropped a couple inches, tint, clean clean system, alteezas, and underbody neon (that actually looks so freakin clean). I dont like accords stock very much, but after seeing his, I really like them. I like both of those cars a lot though. I would get a honda since my nissan 200sx motor blew on me.

car looks nice. it is a 4 cyl, but i can get it up to speed real quick when compared to my civic, plus i dont have to rev the engine up much to do it, seems to have some decent torque.
they will get the spoiler in next week and put it on, but the tint is on and it looks a lot nicer than when without the tint.
i really like the quiet ride and the little things that it has that my vic doesnt (steering wheel mounted audio controls, 16" alloys, 6 disc in dash). nice car, i'm sure it will last a while (its going to have to, dad will use it til it dies.)

hahaha... That might be a while... I rarely see any Accords here for sale unless they are really high mileage or pretty beaten up (accident) because they tend to last a long time. Its got a nice and smooth engine and I know you're dad will enjoy it for as long as the car is around.

stay in the honda family lol.. no j/k if its for Daily driving than i would pick the accord
ut the haters to rest::..
