^can i add a question to your thread?!

how scratch resistent are they?

i went down to pick up a cf hood that this store said they had in stock and when they pulled it out of the box it was all scratched up - so they ordered a new one but it made me worry that its going to scratch easy..

Sorry for jacking the thread - but im sure you wanna find out about scratches as well as cracks! lol

Depends on the quality of the epoxy that was used to make the hood to determine how scratch resistant it is.

I've never heard of any problems with the cold. For example, one of the first places c/f was used was in aerospace technology. Those high altitudes get pretty cold. They shouldn't scratch any easier than your paint. It just may be more noticable because the c/f has that 3-D effect. Almost all c/f hoods have clear on them that should protect from scratches.
