uh oh?
ok, weird things have been happening to my car again
first, lemme just say that its an automatic, and i just hit 6000 miles...maybe that might help with the questions that im about to ask.ever since the start of winter break (12/11), my car has been acting weird.
Question #1
whenever i accelerate from a stop, i "chirp" my tires (i think thats the word?). my tires "chirp" no matter what...if i accelerate slowly, i hear the "chirp"...if i accelerate normally, i hear the "chirp". i know its not my tires, because it just started this week. could there be something wrong with one of the parts on the car?
Question #2
i've been hearing a different "chirping" sound thats coming from my right front wheel. it happens:
1) when i go from P to R, or from D to R.
2) when i let off the gas after i make a left or right turn.
Question #3
i dont know if this is a problem or not. but, in the past two weeks, my car has been downshifting when i apply the brakes. IF this is normal, then my other question would be: "Why am i able to hear the engine "rev" now?"
in the 10 months that i have owned this car, i have never felt it downshift while braking, or heard the sound of the engine rev higher(from downshifting) while braking.
Question/Problem #4
my car has had a high idle lately. it used to be that the needle was below that dash mark between the 1 and the 0. now, the needle is above the dash mark...its close to the 1. (this is after i've warmed up the car)
for questions #1 and #2, is it possible that there's something wrong with the torque converter? i admit that i MIGHT not know exactly what that is. im pretty sure the word is self explanatory, but who knows?
just trying to clear up why i asked this question, just in case someone comes here and says "are you stupid or something? what kind of question is this?"
again, all of this started when i hit 6000 miles.
thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
edit: i dont neutral drop my car, or rev it in neutral or anything.

sounds like you're having symptoms of the notorious transmission problems on the civics. since you're only at 6000 miles, i'd suggest you get it taken care of under warrenty before its too late.
