what mods do you have?...any?.....
is there any hesitation when accelerrating?
when you say shifting into third/ are you downshifting or upshifting?
do you feel any lose of power?
-sorry for all the questions, but it could be alot of things....another one...
is it still under warranty?...if so, take it to the dealership...

Maybe its the VTEC!!!

Hmmm yes, more info is needed. What kind of popping noise? Is it from the front? back? is it while shifting?

usually it happens when i shift up. but today, it happend when i reved my enigine. i only have a short ram intake, everything else is stock.... except for the audio stuff. the noise comes from the engine bay... any ideas of what could be causing this??? could it really be the VTEC? cuz it happens around 2k - 3k RPM.

Some of the cheap short rams have been known to pop. Don't know why tho.

Have you installed any new things in your hood like an after market airfilter? Strange things do happen when you install new parts in your engine and the ECU was not reset. Try resetting your ECU first.

Just remove the connection on your battery terminal for over a minute or two, then reinstall it. The ECU has made a full reset after that. Make sure you remember your stereo's settings before you make any resets.
