ADVICE: friend of mine selling some rsx leathers.....

so heres the deal, a friend of a friend is selling a pair of Black RSX leather seats w/ side airbags... i asked my friend...... he said hes selling them for $400 total, pickup. then he lowered it to 380.

yeah its a good deal. but im kindah skeptic about it. i asked:

----------------------------------------------------

NorCalShinobi: can i check out the seats before i get em? just wana make shure the leathers not fukd up, like sratches, tears, worn, etc

My friend: theres are sratches on it
My friend: its kinda normal wear
My friend: normal wear when u sit on it

NorCalShinobi: hm..
NorCalShinobi: how long has he had the seats for?
NorCalShinobi: are they coming out of an rsx or another car?

My friend: like 1 year
My friend: another car
My friend: its not even 1 year

NorCalShinobi: hm..

My friend: its like 10 months

NorCalShinobi: is the scratches bad tho, like noticable?

My friend: depends

NorCalShinobi: lol

My friend: but if u clean it wit conditioner and the leather wipes if feels good

NorCalShinobi: why is he selling it again?

My friend: he upgraded seats

-----------------------------------------------

so yeah. basically, im wondering exactly how bad they are.. wen he said "depends" that made a lightbulb go off in my head. "uh oh" lol.

Anywayz, even if they are kind of worn.. should i still buy em for that price? and if they are coming out of another car, not directly from an rsx, that would mean theyre pretty used alrdy huh?

just trying to get some input on what u guys think, or any suggestions on what else i should ask my friend about the seats n stuff. thanks

if they look fine then get them. If they are all beat up then dont get them. Just use your judgement.

All older RSX seats crack, this has been a well documented problem on ClubRSX.com. Mine are all cracked up, i really don't care though, but if you want them for the look of it i'd sugest you have a look at them first.

^^ uhhh... if i were to buy those seats these questions would come to mind

1. Is the previous owner overweight? this could be the reason for worn seats..lol
2. Year and maybe mileage? depending if the car is driven a lot or not...could be the reason for worn seats, including the heavy body
3. Climate he lives in? weather can affect the material maybe

lol... these "could" determine the conditions of the seats
