My tires tread was all burned off today trying to get out of an icy patch...
hell yeah i was flooring it trying to get out of it, but all 4 of my tires have very little tread left. No regrets, as the tires have 38k miles on them. They are all-seasons. I ride on stock hubcaps on my dx, but I want to get the rims. Couple of questions
1) Any brand of tires you like that are cheap (less then 80 bucks a piece) and pretty good in snow, ice, wet, dry conditions. I understand that with all season tires, you are bound to slip in snow and ice. But as long as I am not slipping all over the place every few seconds with no hard driving, it is fine.
2) What size rims/tires do you think will look good on a silver sedan that won't throw off the speedometer?
3) Do you think its worth it getting rims/tires that are not stock?
4) Do these legs make my pants look fat?

Consider 15" wheels, with 205-60-15 tires?
Kumho ECSTA HP4 716 from TireRack, $44 plus shipping. Maybe check your local GoodYear, Discount Tire, or Sears also.
I put a set of them on my g/f's 03 Civic EX coupe. Decent in the winter. Check the TireRack ratings.

problem is that this would be my last winter in a really icy area (I live in CT). I'm going off to college in new mexico in the fall, and not much snow fall is there. So if I get tires, it would have to be the ones I am going to keep or else it would be a waste of money. Unless of course snow tires are like 30 bucks a pop.

I think I will stick it out with the tires I have right now. I should be fine for the rest of the winter. Anyone from NM here recommend all-season tires?

A question about plus sizing tires. I am all show-no go, but a daily driver too :P If I were to get 16 or 17 inch rims, would these sizes be fine on my speedometer?
PLUS TWO
205/50-16
205/55-16
215/50-16
PLUS THREE
205/45-17
205/50-17
215/40-17
215/45-17
Thats on the tire calculator.
