Goodbye Group 51 Yellow full size Optima
Those 51's suck. I've drained that thing so many times. Time for a full size one. I'll let you know how hard it is to put in. Time for a higher wound alt. too. To think I'm only running a 500/1 and a 300/2 with a cap even!!

Easy, took me about 30 minutes. You take the tray out and the piece that holds the tray up (held on by 4 bolts) The problem is that the tray was molded to fit a smaller battery so I pounded out the edges. Turns out THAT was a waste of time. You use the little black tray that comes with the car, trim off the raised edges to that the bigger battery can sit flat (there's even an edge on the tray to shield the battery from the radiator which you don't need to cut.) You do have to stretch the factory hold strap a little. The battery ends up sittle about an inch lower so I hammered down the middle of the strap gently and it all went perfectly.
