License Legality - One or Two?
By law, are we required to have a license plate on both ends of our cars, or can we get away with only one? My reasoning is that with this recent snow storm, I got a bunch of snow inside my front plate frame. The result was it being weighed down and bent beyond straightening. I would like to just take the dame thing off, but I don't know if I'm required to have it.

some states require plates, others dont care.
My question is did the licence plate get bent or just the plate frame? If it was the frame just remove it, if it was the license plate, then go to the local license office and get another one for under $10. Dont know what the exact place is called.

Yeah California requires both, usually you won't get stopped sometimes i see cops waiting at intersections waving all cars over that don't have front plates., I got swept over like that one time for having limo tint on my two front doors, just a fix it ticket. $10.00 and you have to show a cop that you took care of the item.
California State law requires you to have a license plate in both the front and the rear of the car, however, nowhere is it stated that it has to be attached to the front bumper. Currently i have my front one posted in the bottom right corner of my windshield, so it can be seen. I hate the way the frame looks on my bumper, so i got rid of it, no problems as of yet.

are you wanting to know whether you are required by law to have the license plate frame on or just the plate? if its the plate then yes you must have both plates on at the same time...

Yeah I haven't had a issue with front plates till the past 2 weeks got a $94 for not having one on the front, then got pulled over again today for no front plate end of the month and the cops are hungry to get easy tickets. Yeah I think I will just throw it in the window even though the first cop said it wasn't ok this last one didn't comment if it was wrong or not. But the cops didn't seem to care about limo tint, cleared headlights with hyperblinkers, and other items though.
Yeah my bumper has a spot for the plate but it looks really gay on there and gives a cop a good target for good feedback on his radar gun.
