UCR students
i've been waiting over a month to register for my classes (i had them all picked out), and what do i find out tonight? the english 1b classes are all full!
what do i do now?
i think this is so gay
. im a biology major, and my registering date is tomorrow (2nd to last day of registration...i think). and now i get all the crappy classes! i dont know if the other UC's do it like UCR, but i think that if youre ready to register on the first day, then you should be able to register. if you wait until the last minute, then too bad.

Freshman I assume? Yeah dude get used to having a pretty screwed up schedule for maybe your first 2 years. What you can do is go to the English 1B class time that you had in mind for probably the first few days. During that time you can ask the professor if you can be added, and more likely than not someone else will drop the class (i.e. if they didn't pay tuition in time or if they can't handle the class). As for the 'registering when you're ready' thing, that's what seniority is for.
Anyway I hope this helps, good luck with your classes!

i transferred to a community college, just to get my course work done, all my business classes, its better to transfer the soonest you can, so you dont possibly lose as many credits, as opposed to if you do it later. if your transferring to another uc you should be able to, im not sure about the requirements for a cal state.
wow thats a first that i heard of one of the english 1 series being filled up. Just fill it in with a breathe requirement or another major requirement, if u have picked a major. And yea registering is determined by your standing at the school by credits, thats why they say you should always have back ups for classes and even backups for the backups. Like what Sleeper said go to the class when instruction begins and ask if u can add in...they usually do because peeps always drop. Heh dang that sucks u register late..i did mine almost a month ago.

^i wish i couldve done mine a month ago. lol. but ya, i had two backups, and well...they're filled up too. so last night i redid my schedule. hopefully these classes dont fill up.
oh btw...i found out that they cancelled 16 English lectures! maybe thats why all the english classes are filled up?
and i checked again...it says all wait lists are full. so should i still walk into the class on the first day and try to get a spot in the class? or should i just forget about it and go to rcc to take this course?

^^no its true. if you dont pay by the deadline, people drop, and people also drop when they get into their classes on the wait list. its worth a shot, i only had luck like 50% of the time. i really didnt like it there, parking was a madhouse, i had to go to school at least an hour if not more early to get parking and make it on time to class, im seriouds! and everyone says its like that everywhere, thats not true, i been to cal state sb, san diego state, uci, cal poly, no ones parking and classes is as bad as ucr.....

im sorry, im not meaning to, i just had a VERY bad experience there, i can go on for hours about the problems i had, and ive been to so many other schools and seen nothing like what i went thru. but if you want to go there, give it a shot, i just wish i hadnt listened to my parents. i applied to 5 colleges, includig my fave (cal state long beach), but since my parents heard ucr was one of the best in socal, they talked me into it, and i regret it so BAD!
