people with autos
So the other night i was racing my friend and held my foot down on the brake and gas to get my launch and my tach was sitting at 3000 rpms, now i have not done this kinda launch in over a year and thought last time i did it, it was around 1500-2000 rpms and was thinking something was wrong or even slipping, but my car drives fine everyday never any problems, is it suppost to go that high, or is something messed up, i am due for a tranny fluid change?

naw i have only done this like 5 times in the last 2 years i never abuse the tranny, i always use d3-d2 for hills and such so it cant just be "beating on my car" since doing this 5 times would not just *** up the tranny like that i always take good care of my car, so does anyone have a answer thats not telling me something i already know?
if you haven't already know... your tranny **** up even on normal driving style. Bottom line is the honda tranny sux big time. So to answer your question, yea. You pretty much shorten the tranny life time by 3/4.

Thats called a brake stand. Alot of drag racers do this, but I wouldnt recommend it on a stock tranny. A brake stand is where you press on then brakes and bring the engine rpms up to the torque converters stall speed for quicker launching. Not good for the stock torque converter or clutch packs. If you keep doing you'll wear out your tranny internals quicker.
