Squeak when accelerating hard and shifting from 1st to 2nd

in my 04 VP Civic, I have noticed when I accelerate hard up to the redline then engage the clutch to shift to second i hear a screeching sound. Only thing I could think of is at that RPM I am not engaging the clutch fast enough and it's rotating the clutch disc on the friction plate/flywheel (not quite sure how it works lol) and making that screeching noise like worn discs/pads do for breaks.

Does that sound right or has anyone else experienced this problem?

Its the tires dude.... if you slam the car into 2nd at 6.5 grand, they can't hold on, so they slip and "chirp".

bad PrecisnTec Bad!! Chirping the tires is bad for the clutch, its bad for the transmission, its bad for your tires, and its bad for your acceleration....

I chirped the tires once at my 1st autocross... The instructor with me, TOM GROSSMANN, looked at me and said, "Ouch! Dont do that" and I haven't since.

Tom, BTW, holds the track Record in a SSC Miata at spring mt. motorsports park. He's also races Moto GP, CSR, Rally (which he is most involved in with now) So I trust his opinion.

Guess I could have excluded the fact that I knew it wasn't tire chirping, but naah, i know the difference between a tire chirping and and metal type chirping but thanks. lol. I mean it happens as I engage the cluth, before I shift to second.

Hm... It may be the Squeaky clutch issue some people have been experiancing. Does it happen when you are pushing the clutch in or when you are letting go? were does the sound seem to come from (Left side or right)

Seems to be on the driver side. Seems to happen as I am engaging the clutch. I'll try to duplicate it as I leave work tonight to verify, but if memory serves me right, that's when it happens and only if I am at redline/revlimiter.

vtecd17 is an unknown quantity at this point
I think i would have to disagree wit all the previous comments. I would think its one of your belts maybe. I know people have been having problems with the belts slippin under harsh conditions, you might wanna let the car chill in neutral, pop the hood, and pull on your throttle body and see if it squeaks...If so, you might need new belts or somethin.

I better stop chirping I did it on many occasions. I will never do it again. Ever since I bought my car it makes a sound at 3000rpm its quite distinct like a weak woodpecker or a humming. It goes and comes back. Maybe I don't notice when I have the windows down. When I engage my clutch at that RPM or higher I notice a slight hum or sqeek from the car. Honda told me it was normal but I find it quite annoying I always think I'm hurting the car.
