so i woke up today fearing the future....
I honestly had a pit in my gut all day about what life will be in 4 years.
in the most educated way possible could someone please point out why you voted for Bush? after waiting in line for 2 hours, i made my line point to kerry (first time voter w00t) these are some of the things that made me want a change in the administration:
-September 11th happend on his watch, he had the information to prevent it and didnt
-He hasnt found Osama. he has run and he has hidden.
-He led us into iraq based on lies; first they had WMD...they dont, then they helped with Sept 11th, they didnt. we invaded them
-Jobs are down during his 4 years
-the jobs he has created pay an average of $7000 less per year. Basically people were laid off of carrer jobs and got jobs like waitress and wal mart greeter.
-less people have health insurance
-our borders are not safer, there are not more people working for INS, there has not been an increse in border patrol from the federal level.
-were are the deepest in debt EVER and we owe the money to countries like china
-iran and north korea are taking steps to go nuclear while all our resources are in iraq
-im worried abortion will be outlawed, creating a black market for both the surgeries and the babys as well as unwanted childeren
-im worried if he gets to appoint 2 supreme court justices how that will shape the future
-im worried that gay marrige will be banned in the constitution (why deny this...its comes down to a hatred of the lifestyle, do what is best for the people of the country not what some peoples god says is right)
-im worried that the war in iraq will weaken us world wide in many ways...first we will have our troops in iraq instead of all over the world...this will make us look as if we are abandoning these nations to support the invasion. this will create more hatred towards the US. Second, recruitment levels will be down...look how close the race was...47-48% of the people dont want this president, their children are not going to enlist to fight the war for him. With all our money going to iraq, aid to other countries will be less...again the feeling of abandonment and hatred toward the US.
-He still doesnt have an exit strategy and the coutries that are helping us are leaving (like Poland that he was so proud of in the debate)
-D!ck Cheney is benefiting financially from the war in Iraq, he still collects a pay check from Haliburton
-Haliburton recived the largest contract for the rebuilding of iraq without putting a bid, it was just given to them
-The Bush family makes money on Oil. look at our gas prices while he has been our leader. over $2 a gallon and oil companies are posting record profits
-colon powells son heads the FCC which has handed out fines to people like howard stern and cbs for the janet jackson thing but didnt fine NASCAR or Oprah or Bono for the same words. he has allowed 80% of the media be owned by 6 companies. the largest clear channel dropped stern after anti bush comments as well as 4 other disc jockeys and shows under similar circumstances...this makes me fear a government controlled media......**** it almost is...i hardly see or hear anything on Iraq but i know "Its good to J-lo" and "The OC" seems like a great place to live.
-federal stem cell research will most likely be under funded..it will have to be funded on a state level
-and finally just an opinion. he is an idiot that makes up words, is out of touch with people our age and problems, does not consult the world when it comes to world issues. when tony blair is gone
now some of what i have listed may just be propaganda or just my hatered for bush or i could just be paranoid.
also as a gun owner and soon to be asault weapon owner, sportsman and advocate of the death penalty im not angry.
Im honestly asking for someone to calm my nerves....there is nothing i can do at this point besides support our administration and hope for the best so someone please tell me this guy can turn things around

Well I too have been looking deep inside myself for answers, and the only console that I can find is knowing that there will be another 4 years of Will Ferrell parodies, and a lot of cool anti Bush slogans. I hope you arent about to enter the "real world" like I am though, because I am afraid of not being able to find a job that pays enough to support a family. A real plus side though is that Bush will be forced to get out of this mess he has made, instead of passing it off, and a great Liberal movement will rise up during the next four years, that will hopefully assure us a Liberal in the Whitehouse in 2008.

you two are retards......read the gawd damn question....in the most educated way you can answer....what is good about bush ?
i graduated college in 2001 and found no job. still dont have anything in the field that my degree is in.

I am in the same boat as you I have been feeling sick to my stomach too, Kerry got my vote since I can't think of many things Bush has positive in his 4 years. Yeah he handled 9/11 which I give him credit but the draft is coming I can feel it and everyone will have to unite against it. Yeah Bush voters are sore winners I will admit I have been hearing them all day, but the facts remain what has bush done for us as a people here in the USA? He is more concerned about everything outside of the borders. Yeah Kerry voters may have been acting the same boasting, but still we have a very divided nation by the results and good luck to bush dealing with it for another 4 years.
I have a college degree also and I am making horrible wages barely surviving on it with being a single male. Been out since 01 also had to leave Phoenix due to not getting payed enough and not enough opportunity to get a job with a salary I could even pay rent on. I am really not looking forward to the next 4 yrs they are going to be very messy, hope the majority of voters enjoy what they wanted.
Either way I didn't care much for either, but I found more good things in Kerry. I have never liked either Bush so I am not just hating on JR.

-iran and north korea are taking steps to go nuclear while all our resources are in iraq
Have been for a while now. What do you want another war? if kerry was in, how would that work? 40,000 more NEW troops? were do they come from? since every one is terrified of being drafted right now? where the hell do you get 40,000 troops from? robots, AI? where? and on top of that how was kerry going to get them to like being in the war? exspecialy since he was going to drastically cut the military budget? why do you think most military and x-military votes went to bush? alot of the problems we have are due to the war. Thats why the value of the USD is down so much not because of iraq, but because of war in general and such cival unrest.
-im worried abortion will be outlawed, creating a black market for both the surgeries and the babys as well as unwanted childeren
i am not a doctor & i am pro abortion, but the type that was outlawed was a very late term, and vary rare type. It was already illegal in most states. believe me ill be in the pickit lines if ALL abortion is in danger, theres already to many damn people in the world.
-im worried that gay marrige will be banned in the constitution (why deny this...its comes down to a hatred of the lifestyle, do what is best for the people of the country not what some peoples god says is right)
Ok, i have no issue with gays or gay marriage, i have friends who are gay. They even voted for bush, go figure, they all said kerry may make a good president but not right now. i think the reason for the gay marriage outlaw, is one- marriage is described as a holy union between a man and a woman. not a man and a man, or a woman and a woman. i personally could care less either way, if some one wants to be married let em. but the legally accepted definition of marriage is between a man and woman. legally thats how it is.. now personally, i think the outlaw is against the constitution, "the right to the pursut of happiness' in particular. but marrige is and always has been a religious thing, thats why you get married in a CHURCH by a church official, or in a court by a judge, at a court you get a marriage CERTIFICATE. which is still recognized as a marriage by the government but not by the church, it is accepted through the country, but it is different, (whole 'nether can of worms). You cant change the bible at all, and thats basically where we get our defintion of marrige, right?
-The Bush family makes money on Oil. look at our gas prices while he has been our leader. over $2 a gallon and oil companies are posting record profits
Ok, does Bush own the gas stations? No, he doesnt. sure he may own some oil ****, but he doesnt own the gas stations. the gas stations decide the gas prices. The gas prices are like a domino effect. oil companies buy oil from where ever for X price, the do their thing to the oil, and sell it to a refinery for X price, which is higher that they bought it for obviously. they then send it to gas station companies and they are the ones who decide what the total cost will be, not the oil companies. the oil companies play a small role in the price, this is simple economics. have you ever noticed how when there are gas stations on opposite corners from one another their prices will reflect each others? say staion A goes up 10 cents, then station B will go up 10 cents to compete, then station B drops there price 12 cents, then station A will drop there price. then take station C 10 miles away, similar prices, but wont fluxuate hand in hand like A and B will. this fluxuation has absolutly nothing to do will the oil companies, but competition between staions. i know this for an absolute FACT. i used to work for mobil and for amoco. and we would change our prices with other local stations. very rarly would the price go up due to the oil companies. usually the oil companies lower the price, just that price drop doesnt trickle down to the consumer very often. there was actually a law suit in illinois about this a few years ago.
-this makes me fear a government controlled media......**** it almost is...i hardly see or hear anything on Iraq but i know "Its good to J-lo" and "The OC" seems like a great place to live.
The govern. has always controlled certian aspects of the media. more than you probably are aware of.
-federal stem cell research will most likely be under funded..it will have to be funded on a state level
Which means more tax money and a BIGGER deficit. moneys gotta come from somewhere right? personal i think homeland defense and military spending should be higher prioritys, than stem cell research, which we a so far away from actually using we wont see many, if any benifits during our life times -(here say not sure if its fact, just what my doc assoc. say)
-and finally just an opinion. he is an idiot that makes up words, is out of touch with people our age and problems, does not consult the world when it comes to world issues. when tony blair is gone
ha, who doesnt make up or botch words. (he doesnt look like a botox zombie either) **** look at the current youths language, most of it has been invented in the last few years, like- Phat-shizzle-werd-jigga-jiggy- and all the hip hops new words added in the dictionary. see the point? kerry wanted our talks with n. korea to be only us and N. korea, at first he wanted to elimanate all the other countries involved, except maybe china. i quote "N. korea Will Not get a nuke.: so if need be more war, and wasnt most of the kerry supports anti war period? thats what they always said, no war....
just my hatered for bush i paranoid.
seems like that about sums it up.... (i edited the above sentence)
also as a gun owner and soon to be asault weapon owner, sportsman and advocate of the death penalty im not angry.
so by an advocate for the death penalty, you support more of the old testiment style beliefs - ie.- an eye for an eye-. you murdered someone, so we murder you.
so by those same beliefs, marrige is between a man and a woman, and abortion is wrong period, its murder.
you could be a mix in beliefs, like myself, i believe in the death penalty but only in certain cases. i believe late term abortion is wrong in most cases, i do belive in abortion, ecspecially in rape victims, and other certian cases, but i dont need to tell you my reasons for that since we seem to be on a similar page. the reason for the gay marrige issue is due to legalitys of marriage, like power of attorney, and ownership of property, taxs etc... thats why theres an issue with gay marrige, by marriages definition, theres no allowance for gay marriage. maybe a special union where they are reconized as a legal couple and get all the benifits of a marrige...?

whats the field? business, graphic design? that in general was a problem b4 bush, theres alot of people with the same prob, my sis boyfirend for example, alot of people went back to school for a masters as a result.
why the fu c k do you feel you need to tell them there retards? why because they like bush, because they have diffrent views than you? come on wheres all that tolerance? what happened to their right to "freedom of speech" why does it seem all kerry supportors are so hatefull? is it because kerrys campaign used hate as its emotion and tone to run on? or did you not notice that? prime example every bush sign i saw outside of scottsdale was vandalized or stolen, right next to em a kerry sign. and i saw verrrrrrrrrry few damaged kerry signs, as a matter of fact i saw NO damged kerry signs, and there still all in there original place. did you hear about the cases of kerry nuts being arrested for vadalisim and assault on the news? an old man with his dog waited for the repeat offender to vandalize his bush sign and yard?
Ps. I heard that the news is saying bush and kerry are distant relatives, wierd......
With all due respect Alex I think you have been blinded by Michael Moore type liberal propaganda. I voted for President Bush because I trust him to take every step necessary to defend this country without bowing to international opinions. Our President is accountable to the American public, not to the cheese eating surrender monkeys in Paris who were secretly profiting by violating the terms of Iraq's oil for food program. Our so called "Old Europe" allies had their own political agenda in the region, which is certainly their right, but I cannot comprehend why the left would be so ignorant to think that it is more important than our own. At least Bush's idealistic goals in the region for liberty and democracy are motivated less by greed than Bonn and Paris's oil profits and back door dealings with Hussein. The military has uncovered plenty of French weapons in Iraq that were too current to have been there before the sanctions were in place, but it has been kept quiet to avoid embarrassing the French and alienating them any further.
On to your other points:
9/11 If you honestly believe Bush had any advanced knowledge of the attack and choose not to do anything about it you are obviously more informed than the bi-partisan 9/11 commission. If anyone had the opportunity to prevent that attack it was Bill Clinton in the 7 years after the 1993 trade center bombing. It was Clinton's cuts to the intelligence budgets and his shifts away from human intelligence to more electronic information gathering that made stopping 9/11 virtually impossible. When your enemy isn't using electronic communications 21st century intelligence gathering doesn't work. In addition Clinton's philosophy to treat terrorism as a law enforcement threat instead of a miltary one (which is also Kerry's) did not allow for the kind of preemtive action to prevent that type of attack. Lobbing a couple of cruise missiles at some Al-Queda training camps that were likely deserted obviously scared them out of attacking us again right? Bill Clinton had an opportunity to take custody of Bin Laden on three different occasions and choose not to becuase he didn't know what to do with him. Because of his law enforcement philosophy on terror he was concerned about how to try him. I'm don't think that same concern is currently floating around Bush's head and that is why he is the right man to go after him.
Jobs: Jobs are down in the last 4 years for 2 reasons. Bush inherited the recession caused from the burst of the internet boom at the end of the Clinton administration. Bush's economic stimulus package (read tax cuts) was turning the economy around prior to the 9/11 attacks. Most economists at the time were expecting decent growth from the economy by spring 2002 prior to the attacks. Due to the economic damage of 9/11 that was delayed by a good 18 months. Personally I suspect that that magic $7,000 salary difference floated around by the left would be alot smaller if you didn't include the huge salaries from all the busted .com businesses who made tons of money off IPO's during the internet boom but never showed a profit. I choose to evaluate the economy a little closer to home. I lost my job of 9 years at American Airlines after the 9/11 attacks. I didn't choose to sit home and whine about how it was Bush's fault. I polished up my resume and found a better job. I had to move from Tucson to Phoenix, but I did it.
I'm not even going to respond to the Haliburton crap because that is just regurgitated Democratic talking points, but if you do some research you can find out on your own that they got no bid contracts under the Clinton administration too.
You are certainly entitled to your option and your own vote, but judging from the points were trying to make I get the impression that you aren't seeing the big picture. This country is facing a threat like never before. George Bush understands that threat and has proven over the last 4 years he is willing to take action to fight it. All we heard from Kerry was that he had a plan. We never actually heard what it was. Considering he speaks French and seems overly concerned about keeping the French happy can we rule out that the plan was to cut and run? The military folks fighting the war on terror on the front lines know better than anyone else what is at stake. Considing they backed Bush by about a 3 to 1 ratio is a pretty good endorcement in my book.
Sorry about the rant...I'm out....

OH, you wanted me to read that whole thing? I could say I was going to fix medicare/medicaid, get more jobs, higher paid wages, lower gas prices just like Kerry did. But just look at the guy. He looks like he's a scandal waiting to happen. Like's it his middle name. Sorry, but I think Bush handled things very well during 9/11 and I know there are some things that he didn't handle. But I didn't like what Kerry's plans were either. It was kind of a toss up(leaning more towards Bush), but then I talked to some of my Marine and Navy buddies that came back from Iraq, Iran, etc. They all told me that they were going to vote for GW again. So that made my decision right there. If these soldiers/sailors can go overseas and be apart from there families for 2 tours of 9-10 months each and still come back and say they are gonna support Bush still, then he deserves to be in his 2nd term, AS HE IS CURRENTLY!!!!

Im honestly asking for someone to calm my nerves....there is nothing i can do at this point besides support our administration and hope for the best so someone please tell me this guy can turn things around
if i were you any of you guys that are getting the stomach "aches" from bush getting elected, i would take it easy. no need to get stressed over something that you have very little power over. plus, politics are going to be this dirty as long as we live in the states. sure it sucks we have the monkey directing the country for 4 more years, but remember, he's just that, a monkey. he probably doesn't make half the decisions we think he does.
I herd he is actualy apointing 3 people to the supreme court. I still do not understand how bush won. I live in NH and as you guys can see pretty much that whole top right voted kerry. I really hope I do not get drafted becuse of this. People obv do not understand that the whole world hates Bush, as well as many americans. I mean just watch him, HE IS NOT SMART. Also it just seems like Bush does not take his job seriously. If you watch his face while giving speeches he smiles about the worlds biggest topics. Also as some one mentioned above that he takes every step before he went to war. WRONG, he jumped the gun so bad, the UN did not aprove and it seems that he was pushing for reasons to invade Iraq. It is amasing how uneducated some people are about politics. If you do not know what is going on in politics you really should not be voting. I mean wouldent you guys think it would be better if every one who voted was educated on what is going on instead of a bunch of people voting just to "vote".
But BUSH is president again for another 4 years and I hope that we do not go to war with any other countries and we do not get drafted.

see these are the kinds of responses I like. I really respect the opinions of the educated. this has been the first time i was involved or really paid any attention to politics. to those that replied thank you for the information and the education.
just please dont put any kind of religious spin on anything i say...i vary between atheist and agnostic on a daily basis
i have also read other things that ease my mind on the supreme court thing
over all i think its just a scary time world wide and theres not a lot that any leader at this tiem could do to make us safer. if we were not at war with iraq, bin laden could be hiding there or reciving funds, we are at war and we are losing position in other parts of the world
over all its a fvcking mad mad mad mad world right now and any president that can get us through it safely i would shake his hand at the end of it all.
thumbs up to all that voted and have educated themselves (whatever side of the fence you are on!!)

why the fu c k do you feel you need to tell them there retards? why because they like bush, because they have diffrent views than you? come on wheres all that tolerance? what happened to their right to "freedom of speech" why does it seem all kerry supportors are so hatefull? is it because kerrys campaign used hate as its emotion and tone to run on? or did you not notice that? prime example every bush sign i saw outside of scottsdale was vandalized or stolen, right next to em a kerry sign. and i saw verrrrrrrrrry few damaged kerry signs, as a matter of fact i saw NO damged kerry signs, and there still all in there original place. did you hear about the cases of kerry nuts being arrested for vadalisim and assault on the news? an old man with his dog waited for the repeat offender to vandalize his bush sign and yard?

i wasnt calling the retards because of thier views (see my reply above this one) i was asking for educated responses from bush supporters to hopefully show me why people voted for him, to show me why he will do a good job now that he is in office. i am so upset with where the world is at im more of an anybody but bush mode.....the people that took the time to respond with facts and emotion all recive a big thumbs up and a pat on the back.

well put! lol First of all, some of you fools who are saying Bush is a monkey and he doesn't know what he is doing, did you just see what happened 2 days ago? Bush won by over 3 million votes. John edwards lost his home state. More young voters turned out tha ever. you know why? because someone mentions the draft. BUT how come more younger voters voted for Bush? Because he can do a better job on war and terrorism than Kerry. Clinton is way more conservative than Kerry and he didn't do anything for the 1st World Trade Center attack.
Just for some other points, On gay marrige, Ill give you 2 good reasons. My sister got married and her friend did also, in massachusetts you can. 3 months later, divorce is in the works. Gay couples are not like a Man/ women couple. they jump around from partner to partner for the most part. I know of one guy who has been with the same guy for 27 years, BUT they mess around on each other all the time.
As far as Abortion, I have said it once already, I donot support killing an innocent baby. Bush has tried to ban it and the supreme court halts it. Bush is withen limets such as rape, all this was said already. I deffinately wouldn't stand for partial birth, it is sick and any doctor who does this procedure has alot of problems and should be killed himself. Death penalty, I am for it all the way, like Bush. Kerry is against it because he feels it is racial, well I hate to say that 1 in 3 people in a corectional system is Black. I don't care if he is purple blue, if it is deserved, death.
Stem cell research I am against once again, I have a crippling disease, at any time in my life I could be in a wheelchair or better, dead. It's called Neurofibromatosis, remember this name. If they said they would find a cure for me, I still wouldn't allow it. I am the way I am and don't need to be changed. I have my 1 or 2 surgerys a year and keep going.
Neurofibromatosis, I said to remember this name, Bush has given more money to research than any other president, over $30,000,000 for military research. I myself doubt they wil ever find a cure, but if they do, it will help others. Brett farve(sp) his son has it. Jillian anderson, her brother has it and is a real big advocate.
Those are my reasons for voting for Bush. He is a very smart man, he may not speak well but don't knock him for it. People are too quick to judge. Kerry is a smart man also, He is a way better speaker than Bush. Kerry is a good car salesman. He tells you what you want to hear and hopes that if he got elected that congress would pass it. Just because kerry says he will give healthcare to everyone doen't mean it's going to happen. Same goes for Bush too. But Bush has done everything he said he was. Kerry might have done some good also But MOST of my beliefs lean towards Bush.
