How much does tint cost?
I wanna get my back 3 windows done (coupe)... I would like around 5% but maybe a bit higher depending on whether or not I figure I'll be able to see out at night... or in day for that matter.
Can anybody recommend a good place that does it cheap, maybe even throw me a price?
Thx, appreciate it.
BTW, since I am on the subject, how WILL 5% affect my visibility?

this thread can get deleted, but until it does I am gonna take advantage of it anyway..
is it even legal to get the front windows tinted? how about the windshield?
I am just gonna get my back 3 for now but eventually I wouldn't mind getting my front windows done as well, including perhaps just a strip across the top of my windshield... what do you think?

I know in Ontario we have a legal limit on the front... 35%
The rest has no limit.
I have a coupe and went 30% front, 20% back, and 5% rear windshield.
Bro, 5% is HARD to see out of. Sure it helps when you're getting some *** in the backseat but i would recommend going 20% all around. Easy to see out after a few days, and hard to see in when its night. When its daytime, its not easy to see in, not TOO hard. 5% is just about impossible to see inside. If you're behind me, you dunno if i have 6 passengers or im alone, ya cant see anything through my windshield
BTW i got mine done for 130 including a 10 buck tip with lifetime warranty. But thats here in TO, dunno about pricing in BC.
Hope that helps

I'd go with 20% or 35%. I've got 35 it's pretty good as far as night time driving. It's dark enough that you cant see other driver's faces though. And my buddy has 20% and thats just on the edge. He puts his windows down to back up though. We both paid $180 with lifetime warranties.
Rear and sides are legal. The windshield is supposed to be illegal to ahve anything in your viewing field. Hope this helps

So I am thinking 20% on the back and then later on 35% on the front windows
I just want like a 6" strip or something at the top of my windshield of like 5% but that is another story

I dunno what % mine are done, but this guy did a really nice job. Had them for 2 years and no problems. Paid 150 for all 5. I'm thinking about going 20 for rear back and rear windshield, and keep the fronts the way I have it right now.

I paid $175 for my platinum tint w/ lifetime warranty. They guy that did mine said he'll do my windsheild for a extra $70-$80 I can't remember the exact amount. It is illegal though. Good luck finding someone that does a good job in Canada
Just say that the tint on the front windshield came factory, and that its a safety precaution so that the sun dont blind you while driving and cause you to crash.
As for getting tints done seperately, just get them done at the same time. Dont get half done and half later... get it all done together and save yourself the hassle. Besides, IMO, when someone has tints in the rear and clear fronts, it looks bad. Your choice, but thats my $0.02

My parents are paying for the back windows for my birthday and I don't have any money to pay for the front so I don't really have a lot of choice... but maybe I will try and come up with a few bucks
I understand man, didnt mean to across as a ****
Just try to get the fronts tinted soon, cuz it will look a whole lot better with everything tinted.
Check the yellow pages, you're bound to find a good deal somewhere and some guys who will match/beat your lowest found price and throw some extras in(ie-warranty). Worked for me!

You didn't come across as **** (whatever the 4 stars were, lol), just saying that I am a broke *** ho

I think I might just do that or even just go to one of the "big name" tint places that are around here

Here's another tip. Keep your reciept in your glovebox with your license and registration. Cops always ask "Did you do it yourself or was it professionally installed" if you show it was done by a pro then they dont seem to care. Like they think that because a shop did it its ok.
Canada has different tinting laws everywhere. Every time I go up to Montreal, I see cars driving around with the windows painted black! I've seen a couple cars in montreal with the front shield done too. From experience I'll tell you that if you are going to do anything lower than 15%, upgrade your reverse lights. Its really hard to see out the back.

i got my 5% done by a crackhead for $100, i dont even know where the dude is now, so i guess no warranty.
i have had no problems with the tint and it hasnt faded a bit, but its too damn dark. never again will i get 5% again, my friend has 15% all around and its quite nice (its dark but not hard to see out of dark).
i think you will be happy with 20%, 35% is a little too light in my opinion.
