My friend told me that I HAVE to use an amp or they'll sound like ****. He was also saying that if you dont use an amp to power components, then later on down the road use an amp, they'll blow instantly. I laughed in his face.

Sweet!!!
...and you took pics that give those speakers justice (Mystic
).
Anywayz, for an amp...I recently bought this PG Ti Elite from Sounddomain.
I really like the amp, and it has good features, and not a bunch of useless stuff.
You can price match it off of Ikesound down to $300, and still get it from an authorized dealer.

At Al and Ed's they were trying to sell me a set for $1000, and they are a notorious rip off shop.
Even though they are one of my favorite speakers, I could not justify spending more then $600.
Are you sure they were this years model? Tweeter tried to sell me a set of last years with the old xover for $900 telling me they were this years. I only paid $800, at my dealer.
The MSRP right out of the MB Quart dealer stock book is $1,499.

Well, it was about a year and a half ago...and it was the QSDs. I think they were desperate to get rid of their stock.
