heres the diy i got from riceboy. Im going to quote you riceboy!!!!!!
if you got any more questions, get me on aim at kimchi29. the wiring was custom for the kit i had. i guess its different by every kit. i got h1 kits. and my friend did the wiring for me. ill take pics of the wiring and such in the day. hit me up at aim on kimchi29, email at kimchi29@gmail.com or call my cell at 562 644 8799
i'm pretty sure you have the headlights out of the car. if you dont, then do so... also, replace your headlight fuses (stock 15A fuses) with at least 20A fuses. dont forget to test the bulbs before breaking the seal, just in case one bulb doesnt work, so you can get a free replacement bulb (in case you're having problems trying to fire them up, look below...)
anyways, if you try and fit the h1 hid bulb into the tyc housing, it will not fit. you will have to file/drill/bore out the hole that the bulb goes into. you're prolly gonna have to drill out/file out a lot of metal to get the bulb to fit. if you look at the base of the bulb, there's a little plastic...shield looking thing that you're gonna have to fit into the housing as well. i also ended up filing down the black plastic backing a little because a little 'nub' on the housing was keeping me from inserting the bulb all the way in. now, put the bulb in the housing and BE CAREFUL!!! when i was doing this part of the installation, i put a hairline fracture in the stick thing that goes from the top of the bulb to the bottom. luckily, i didnt mess up the wire inside the insulation (i'm assuming thats what it is). repeat on the other side.
now that you got the bulbs in, plug the stock wiring harness into the tyc wiring harness, and the tyc harness into the HID wiring to the ballast, and the ballast wiring to the bulbs (that is kind of a given though...). now, the "tricky" part. low beams on the TYCs are blue and black. high beams are red and black. this was how it was in my case, so, just for reassurance, plug in a regular h1 bulb (assuming you have one) into one set and turn on the low beams. now that you figured out what the low beam wire colors are, plug that into the HID kit. the tricky part about this step is that the wiring on the TYCs are reversed. essentially, you're gonna plug in the positive (red) HID wire (harness to ballast) to the black wire, and the negative (black) HID wire to the blue wire. it took me a couple days of attempting to plug in the kit to realize that.
now, find a good position for the ballast and plug everything in where they're supposed to be. so what you want with wires and whatnot. i am yet to re-install my weather seal, and so far, i still have no fogging (i also siliconed the hell out of the edges when i first got the TYCs...). however, i am gonna put that one soon, and i'm also doing a retrofit, so it's all going to come together after i do that. dont forget to aim the headlights.
