ur leaving out stats, the box depends on what your sub requires and if ur sub is 8ohm it depends on ur wiring, is it single or dual voice coil.. what wattage rms is your sub what wattage rms is the amp you want to use? as long as the amp is bridgeable and gives the wattage you want @ an 8ohm load you should be fine..

http://jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html << wiring guide.. btw SVC = single voice coil and DVC = dual voice coil.. just incase you didnt know.. if your sub is just listed as 8ohm, then its most likely a single if its dual it will say 8ohm+8ohm or dual 8ohm, (im not even sure if they make DVC 8ohm subs, I really have no idea) but that is the basic idea of how things go..

oh yea.. vented = ported, most likely the stats will list a cu ft for sealed and ported.. so just reference ur stats/user guide for the sub..

ok, so ur off to a good start, the problem is the 400 and 900 can either be wattage in RMS or PEAK, rms = continuous, peak can be listed as max, or a variety of other things.. you want to try and match the rms, but keep in mind the ohm loads, an amp that is 400w rms @ 4ohms isnt 400w rms @ 2ohms or 8ohms

we need to know name and model number of your sub so we can see what specifications the sub wants in a box, to be able to sound its best. 400rms, 900peak hmmm sounds like maybe kicker?

tbaleno is an unknown quantity at this point
One is .5 cubes to small the other is .25 cubes too big. I'd probably go with the larger one. Just my opinion.
