Hummmmm I wonder
I know there are a lot of topics already on this subject but...... i need clarification. Would it be better to do TYPE S COMPONENT 6.5 speakers in the front and the back rather than 6x9s in the rear, or would that sound like crap? If not would i have to run an amp?
A pair of Type-S components up front on an amp w/ nothing in the rear is probably the best way to go. That will keep the imaging really sweet. A lot of people here run nothing in the rears. I have rears, but don't use them anymore either. Sounds better w/o them.
Plus, don't bother to get components if your not going to amp them. Its like putting our engine in a Ferrari .... not much point. You really can't compare HU and amp power. An amp makes a world of difference. Even a small 50x2 amp will blow a 50x4 HU out of the water in terms of volume and clarity .....

ALPINE SPR-174A 6-1/2" Type-R. A little pricey but a pretty good rear fill speaker if you want Alpine. You'd be better to stay away from 6x9s for rear fill. Depends on your preference though. I don't really understand what you mean by "if not would i have to run an amp?" You shouldn't really be changing your speakers at all unless you are running an amp. If you truely believe you want to change your stockers and don't want an amp, don't worry about getting too nice of a speaker, the 15watts or so that the stock HU will put out won't make enough power to accomodate a big upgrade in speakers. Which is why I think you'd be better to leave the speaks stock if you won't use an amp anyway - the stock goods (or bads, lol) were designed as a system. If you wan't change, put another "system" in their place, don't break up the system though. If you still wan't an audio change and won't use an amp, change the HU. At least you'll get some cool features and some options you didnt have.
So i think i will do the 6.5 types R componet because i guess they are better and they are the same price off ebay. So what amp would you recommend? i was thinking 80w rms or is that too much? The last question is where to put the tweeters?? I have se a pillar tweeter set up and onew that goes in the corner of the door. Which one is better and where do i get one?? Im baisicaly looking for clarity and the bass will come from my future subs.
Thanx again!!!!!

I say run a single pair of quality components in the front and leave nothing in the rear as well. Myself and most of the SQ guys that I know run their setups like that, and knowing some of the basics of SQ competition, you don't need speakers in the back anyway.
SQ is Sound Quality and SPL is Sound Pressure Level. The only way you would really need rear speakers is if you are running a 5.1 surround sound processor. L&R front, L&R rear and center channel = 5.1. This set-up is usually only good for DVD. A good component set you could look at would be the JL audio XR653 CSi. it is a 3 way component. you could run a 75x2 amp on this setup or yours.

So if i was to put something there what would be a good soeaker to run with the alpines type r componet? Would it be better to get a spacer and put more componets in the rear or would it be better to do a regular speaker?
you really won't get any imaging from the rear, so there's no sense in going out of your way to get sperate components. Single speakers, called coaxial will do fine. it really doesn't make a huge difference what you go with, you'll just be giving them enough power to faintly here them from the front so they "fill" in nicely with the front stage. Thats how I like my sound. Whatever coaxial you get at a good price. I use my headunit to power my rear fill, works great and I don't waste any power from my amps.
