Carbon Fiber Hood Decapitation???
I was lookin into buyin the invader carbon fiber hood for my vic, and then my friend tells me he heard they dont crumple like metal does (which i know is true b/c its much stronger) but that there have been cases in which a head on collision has caused the hood to fly through the windshield cuttin the driver in half... Im not really too sure what to think about this. What have you heard???

that's what hood pins are for. plus most cf hoods are not pure cf anyways, just cf overlay over fiberglass.

doesnt carbon fiber splinter? no it doesnt crumple like metal, but the hood going through the windshield to cut the driver in half sounds like the making of an old wives' tale. carbon fiber isnt diamond, pretty sure it would get demolished like the rest of the front end.

Chances of Cf hood cutting driver in half will be like
after a collision, gas tank blows up and Driver is BURNT TO DEATH

why do you think they stopped using steel hoods? The 6ft long hoods on the old cadillacs and stuff killed people.
