IPOD adapter for OEM honda stereos
saw this ipod adapter that plugs into the cd changer port on the back of our oem HU decks that allows the user to change tracks with the cd changer controls on our stock decks or still use the ipod controls.

That is kinda what this site is

I am going to be putting in my iPod in my car soon. But I have an aftermarket deck, with AUX inputs so its gonna be super easy for me to do. To get the best sound out of your iPod is to encode the MP3's higher, and to have a direct connection into the headunit. I read reviews of people using their iTrips, and other FM modulator's, and they have not sounded the greatest. The only problem I see with this is the cost. Its a little spendy. If you need some more help, check out what some people have done over on www.ipodlounge.com

yea, this setup i posted - The adapter includes a 11.5' (3.5M) cable that plugs directly into your iPod. The other side of this cable plugs into the CD changer port on the back of your car stereo – there is no FM modulation.
thanks for posting your link. the DIY pics are awesome man.

Search iPod in the ICE forum, and there are alot of people's suggestion. Having the iPod in my car will free my car up of 120-150 CD"s
Edit: or add even something like this. http://www.pac-audio.com/auxbox/

I recently got the Neo Ion installed in my 2004 Civic EX. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth it for me. I ran the wire to the center armrest, so I can keep the iPod hidden when I want, but bring it out if I want to change playlists or navigate to a specific song. I can also control the power and skip via the stock HU. The only thing that I'm disappointed in is that I can't play/pause via the HU. I'll be happy to answer questions about the set-up. I also had a PAC adapter in an Accord, but that didn't allow control via HU.

My JVC HU has a jack on the faceplate for 3.5mm connectivity but it looks sloppy and it doesn't let you use the HU controls for control of the iPod.
Does anyone know of an adapter or cradle that would allow full control over the iPod via HU controls (with the exception of turning if on and off)?

There's four setups that allow you to control your iPod with the HU controls that I'm aware of:
Dension Ice-Link $219
http://www.densionusa.com/x/index.ph...=375&Itemid=79
Comes with a dock.
Neo iON $189
http://mp3yourcar.com/
PAC AuxPod $175
http://www.audiowarehouse.peachhost...._PRaux-pod.htm
Alpine KCA-420i $100
http://www.alpine-usa.com/products/l...h_kca-420i.htm
This one requires an Alpint Ai-net head unit, but can display track information from it. I hear that the interface is cumbersome, though.
There are also aux-in adapters that should run about $70 which will allow you to connect the iPod to the HU, but you'd have to control it with the iPod. This isn't that bad of a solution, just Shuffle Songs and go. I had this set up in my previous car, but I prefer the convenience of the HU controls in my new one.
