help anyone??
ok so here it goes...
i got into an accident and i had to take out my subs and amp...so i cut the wires from my amp kit...now im trying to get it back running, i know that the rca cable cannot be re-wired so i bought i new one (monster) and re-wired everything else...i turn on my car, no sound from the subs...
i can see i am getting power cause my amp lights up but there is no sound...i followed my rca cable and it is hooked up to this rca conversion box (install edge IEC AULOC). but that adapter is not hooked to anything but the rca cables...im guessing the reason for my subs not working cause there is no power in that adapter since its not hooked up to anything
b4 i cut the wires, my system was working fine, so im wondering since ididnt touch the adapter b4, it should still work, but its not...anyone have suggestions?
heres the pic of the adapter..

I used to have an adapter just like that before I got my head unit. If you cut the speaker input wires coming from the radio's harness that go into your conversion box, then your pretty much screwed unless you want to test each wire in your bundle of wires of the stereo harness to find out which one sends the signal to your subs. I examined my box before I got my head unit and couldn't even figure out how Circuit City wired it all. You have to have the speaker wires connected as well as the RCA cables in order for your subs to recieve the signal from your factory radio. In my opinion, just drop 100-300 bucks on a decent head unit and you wont have this problem anymore. If you get a head unit then all you need to hook up your subs is the RCA cables that run from your headunit's pre-outs to the inputs on your amp. Not to mention the sound quality is much better with a head unit and plus you can adjust the subwoofer level individually rather than just turning the bass **** down on your factory stereo! Get a head unit! I will even go through with you step by step how to get it all up and running!

i have an in dash dvd...
this is where it happened and im guessing why i have that box...i had the sysem up and runnin on my stock radio, it was professionally installed, couple months later, i had an in dash installed so i dont have my stock anymore....
so basically take out the conversion box and run like 5 metre rca cables straight from my hu pre-outs to my amp? i was thinking i can do that but i juss was wondering if there is any other way cause i dont wanna re wire under the carpet etc, the wierd thing was b4 i snipped the wires, the subs were hitting with the same setup (conversion box)

yeah just run a pair of rca cables from either the pre-out on your in-dash that says "subwoofer" or "rear"! Connect the other end to the RCA input on your amplifier! just run the wires under your mats or squeeze them up under the running boards or whatever it will fit under! thats what I did! I mean unless your planning to take a first class trophy for best interior i wouldnt worry about the wires under the carpet!

cool, thanks gw,
i was too lazy b4 but now i guess i will do it, i seen the diy for taking out the dash, is it tough?
i may want to make a custom box too, how tough would that be, i have lots of time on my hand now so time is no concern, but money is!
