Found a complete JDM DC5 (RSX) front clip.
Found a complete JDM DC5 (RSX) front clip.
I found a complete JDM DC5 (RSX) front clip w/ K20 type-r. I cant waite to start my JDM front end conversion and engine swap. I would be hard. BUt maybe even convert to right hand drive.
I just posted my Sf Turbo kit, Complete VTEC PnP head, Web Cam, custom I/M, and all parts needed if someone wth a LS wanted to do a VTEC turbo conversion. Asking $4,000 will not part out. The LS lower compression pistons will actually be better than running EX block and the VTEC head w/ cam will work wonders.

its not worth buying a type R if your going turbo.. (to get to 500 horse) you cant boost off stock internals more than 7psi.. which is like 300-320 hp.. second u want more.. u gata go with lower compression and basically go backwards on a n/a tuned motor which is going to cost you way more money.. id start off with type S annd use the type R tranny with lsd and turbo that or go with the SI k20 and do some mad boost on that one.. cuz its compression is already there and internals are easier to find than jdm type R internals.. also .. boosting that high on a high comp motor with nitrous is crazy.. your going to need mad internals .. 10 k indeed and another 2 k every year in maintenece.. but **** man if u do it.. fukin props to you bro.. fly past M3's and AMG's and tell me what their faces look like once they see the "H" fly past them
werd I agree...I think 300ish whp is good enough for FWD cars b/c u will NEVER see traction....anything more is for strictly TRACK ONLY and/or if its AWD or RWD....its your $$, by your dyno #'s u seem to be pretty quick as is...I'm not hating but 500hp on FWD is CRAZY, IMO
sorry my friend had a 400hp GSR and he sold it b/c it was a pain to try to drive everyday or hell many times can u go to the track...btw, he ran 11's in it...now he's going with an Evo MR or just the regular Evo

ur saying you can convert your civic front into a dc5 front end??? id be down for that .. no prob.. 14psi with nos.. better be reallllly tuned for that kind stress to the k20.. but those motors are troppers.. take heavy abuse.. budy sqeezes 100 shot to his type S .. breaks off SS's and S4's quarter mile... anyways good luck on that.

There is more to a type-r than high compression pistons. It revs higher and with some good tuning and lets say 14psi it will hit at least 400hp. Throw in a 100shot and dam a corvet killer. Right now at 231whp I can kill mustangs. Double the HP and guess what. Its Cobra eating time.
03 cobra pulls high 12's bone stock, and with 500 whp, you're gonna need slicks to get traction in a fwd. you'll never truly beat a modded cobra ... a stock 03 svt cobra takes 16 seconds to get from 0-160 mph and I have a vid to prove it ... fwd cars just suck ***.

hold on im trying to figure this out! first of all sure its a RHD but you gotta think if the dash will fit in your civic! i just saw a DC5 clip in vancouver and sure it was sweet, but thats a TOONNNNNN of work, if your geting a good deal on it sure, but for the work involved i dont' know how you expect to pull this together, especailly with the right HD, the dash just wont fit!

this is running around in my town

yeah if it came down to it you could sell the type R pistons for enough money for low compression one. But if i had a type R I would Go all motor. Thats what the car is made for and it would be fast and reliable.

thought it was a funny lookin rsx .. then I saw 4 lug and ek rear ...
Type R has a better intake manifold, bigger throttle body, better head, better crank and bearings. The only thing wrong with it for forced induction is the compression. But if you put in some high quality low compression pistons, you have a much better motor.
u must have a lot of money.. what do u do for living.. i wish i could affoard all of that
lol but im just jelous.. mad props if u get it done right.. i cant wait to turbo my d17.. and in time ill get a dc5 type-r as well
lol but im just jelous.. mad props if u get it done right.. i cant wait to turbo my d17.. and in time ill get a dc5 type-r as well dude its a Honda, you're gonna pull up to a Cobra to race and blow your motor or snap an axle. That'll look cool....Get something RWD if you want 500HP ( people throw this number around too lightly). I have ridden in a Viper and i got scared when that thing was 1/2 throttle, most of us cant come NEAR to exploiting a 400HP car, let alone 500. Be happy w/ what you have.
My shops integra B18 turbo w/ axels and drag radials tore up the Cobras when we went to the track. Dont think that the Cobra is untouchable. They aren't. How do you think a Cobra owner feels when he gets beat by a Honda. My friend traded his WS6 transam after my tubo d17 pulled on him. Off the line he had it. But on the highway I was able to keep up with and slightly pull. If I loose to a Domestic I am like cool i kept up pretty good. When a domestic gets beat they are ready to trade in their POS car. There is a satisfaction having a fast (slow) car.
