[IGNORE]So for a little while now I've been working with my friend over at Civic Motors trying to get a car for Slo Es1. While talking to him about her deal I get to thinking that I might take advantage myself. He offered me a kick *** price and plan on a 2004 SiR. WE didn't even discuss my car as trade bait and it was totally amazing.
I'm thinking about it since most of my suspension bits (ie. the Progress kit) will fit on it.
NOt to worry...if I do this the car will get many-o-mod and will not be stock for longer than the winter. [/IGNORE]
Opinions please....
EDIT: Drove the 2005 RSX TypeS and it's killer. Waiting for the numbers from Acura but I'm going in that direction. If so, I'll throw up a part out list next week for you guys to pick from.

dibs on your seats
I say don't do it. Your car has a lot of work done, and its probabaly either paid off, or will be soon. Just drop a K20 into and you will be faster and better than any EP3.
I was thinking about doing the same thing and I decided I would keep my car and work toward making it better.
My $0.02

your car is amazing, alot of really nice work and time has been gone into it, it would be a shame to let it g, what about the graphics, what will u do with that, i love your car and i would not like to see it go.
On the other hand SIRs are fast, you will transfer the suspention and the rims and such to it, and it will look awsom in no time, plus you can drive it this winter before modding it, so u wont need a beater, and it has alot of potential when it comes to power.
This is a hard situation, i personally keep the coupe just because i prefer the look. but that doesnt mean u shouldnt go for it, if you r getting an awsom deal on it, then my not.
How much milege is on your car, and what kinda problems have u ran into ?

get a dsm for going fast
kidding :P. I wouldn't do it either mainly because you have a lot invested into your car, maybe im just weird but i dont think i could part with my car once i've modded it. Its to much an extension of you type of thing. To top it off your car is sweet.

The only funny thing about this.. I can easily see where you are coming from. Your car does look very nice at the moment, but all the problems and the fact that a very tempting deal lingers in front of you doesn't help.
In my opinion, I'd truly way the pros and cons before deciding anything. As it might seem like a great deal getting the SiR, having to deal with newer car payments might be a bigger problem than you might need. I'm sure there are lots of people here ready to help you talk it over... but ultimately its your decision. Good luck with deciding
just as an example.
a payment of around $425/ month for 2 years will get you around $10000.
K20a2 = $3500
k24 = $1400
Hasport mounts = $750
Hondata flash = $1200
Rad, and other misc = $500
Install = $1000
And for that price you have a K20/K24 Frankenstien swap in your already built up 7thgen
At probably lower payments than your new SiR would be. I know which way I'm going....

I dunno...the car has had so many problems. You should hear the ****ed up sound that it's making when I back up now....I can't explain it but it sounds like a party horn...
Not to mention the how sluggish it's always been off the line and ****. Thread Starter

I dunno....there are some things I can reuse and other things I can sell. Don't get me wrong..I love the look of my coupe but the problems that have plagued it ruin it for me. I want something I can drive this winter....(rust proofed) and then get my winter beater next year and store the thing My Civic has been through 4 winters and it's starting to show under the hood and under the car.....eeek.
I say wait until the new 2006 comes out man
Coupes will have the k20 in it... so ya get the sexy looks of the coupe, with the "go" of the SiR
I think the coupe looks better, both stock and when done up. So why not just wait? Thats my $0.02

if you're sick of the problems i'd say go ahead and get the SiR.. thats when I decided to get my civic, well it wasnt really my decision mainly my parents, but my old car was crapping out and I would say nickel and diming me to death but it was like hundred and thousanding me to death... lol.. neway.. its great that u can re-use some parts, thats a really nice benefit. I'd prolly get the new car myself if I could afford it, in ur situation.. but I'd wanna have enuf $ for nice mods n such cause wuts a new car w/o a few new mods to make it more fun
I only had my car for a week w/o the system.. I couldnt take it. heh..

I only had my car for a week w/o the system.. I couldnt take it. heh..I agree completely d00d, thanks for the reply. I would likely just keep it stock over the winter.....I would buy the coilovers, exhaust, wheels and other toys over the winter and do a crazy *** install party in the spring on it...lol
Mike if I were you I'd do the same...except I'd get a 2002 RSX or SiR seeing as the new RSX's and new SiR's don't appeal to me. I just find that new cars aren't really worth buying because of off the lot depreciation and all those extra taxes and hidden costs you gotta pay for. Look for a used car, get it carfaxed and bring it to a garage make sure everything is in good running condition and buy the sucker
Sure, that SiR looks safe. But to each is his own
I like the coupe over SiR stock for stock, and modded vs modded.
Im just giving my opinion. I prefer coupe either way and just wanted you to take into consideration the new coupe is gonna have a better engine so dont overlook that.

Ya but my lease is up now and I don't want to wait another year.
before i ending up buying my 04 LX coupe, i had a started out with a higher budget and was looking at 04 Si coupe, 03 SiR and 03 RSX premium
this was last year at this time, im curious what kinda deal are you getting on the SiR?
I was able to get it for 20,800 incl freight thats a HUGE discount, IMHO the 04 SiR looks better but I would take the RSX premium over it anyday. It was fun to drive but overall they are basically the same car but i prefer the acura.
Regardless I am student so wasnt able to get approved on financing so I ended up borrowing the money from my parents and got something cheaper (04 LX coupe, at a good discount of course)

I'm tired of the RSX though...everyone has them. You don't see too many tricked out SiR's and I want to stand out a little more. Besides, I think if properly set up the SiR would do really well in AutoX...better than a coupe anyway.

the Ignited SiR? I posted that thread I think...take over payments right? My deal would be like $100 less/month.
I don't really want one that's done that way...it's nice and all but not my style.

Mike from the sounds of it, you already have made up your mind. Start sellin your ish and go jump on that deal!
I'm just going to wait until the new model comes out, wait about 3 years after it has been released than finance the new SiR coupe, and I'll keep this one prolly for winter or I MAY give it to the g/f
But I will never trade this car in. I didn't finance it only to give it back to the dealership for less than it's worth!

mike that doesnt sound like a bad deal...i wouldnt mind an sir, but it would HAVE to be dropped ASAP! haha, but they look really good in the end so go for it...i dont think you will be dissapointed!
