truck wants to race me question
Alright , some dumb *** from school was talkin crap civic ect, he has a 02 tacoma v6 lifted oversize tires SR5. Well needless talkin crap of how his truck would whoop my civic. So he wants to race me ect. i think its a waste of time myself what u guys think? think a vic can beat this thing?
heck you can even win over an f150.. tried it myself a long time ago(completley stock).go for it.. give him 1 cars length advantage.. btw, you can tell me "he wasn't even trying" all you want but i know he was racing me.. i can hear his engine screaming as i passed him

i ran solid with a ram 1500 360ci/slush in my 5spd ex sedan with k&n air filter... unless he has granny gears ill bet you can smoke him. kinda off topic, i have seen a lifted yota with huge tires lift the front end and run 10's.....
just make sure the SR5 doesnt want to drag you out into a field the race you, hahaha thats what my friend would do, they are quick trucks though they feel faster when you are inside then when you really see them run my friends is the 4 banger btw but its a strong motor

yea theres the other way haaha my friend wants me to race his 4x4 in my street truck.... field of choice like a corn field or something
go for it. i race my friends truck all the time. he has way more mods then i do...but i walk him three cars off the line. from a roll i can pull on him at the top of my gears. but yeah definitely go for. if you win you get the bragging rights.
Its worth a shot.... but I sure wouldnt consider it a waste of time. To me, thats nothing but an excuse becuase you don't think you can win. I hear that a lot, but then they get to make excuses after the race is over for why they just got beat by a 7,500lb 4x4.

Haha this is kinda funny , i orignaly brought this up about the tacoma. Tonight i was just rolling home and some older F150 keeps revin up at lights and paseing me ect... this kept up for 2 miles cuz i didnt feel like racing, but after the 2 miles of lights and dealing with it i got kinda sick of it cuz it looked like 2 dumb high schoolers i noticed them talkin crap out the window after i turned down the radio. i dunno what engine the F150 had but needless to say i whooped his ***. my story of the night.. why do damn trucks want to race cars ~

All I got to say is....
1) Although a small truck he weights 3700 lbs, his V6 puts out 190 hp. Do some math and he has 19.47 lbs per horsepower. If you have an EX (2550 lbs) then you have 20.07 lbs per hp. So stock for stock it would be a close race. However.....
2) Oversize tires kill your accerlation. they are heavier and they simply kill your gearing. Most of the Tundras that have big tires and are lifted usually require the TRD supercharger to retain stock accelleration. This will be the biggest factor in the race.
3) More than likely he's an auto, even with a 5 speed the truck wasn't geared for accelleration.
So unless he's got some serious mods to offset his huge tires, then he won't even put up a fight.

if he races in 4wd low and can do a 4.5k dump or somethin, he might smoke you. even tho this is a totally different vehicle, my friends wrangler 4cyl can almost lift the front end off the ground and you can feel the torque twisting the chassis when he launches.. kinda crazy. but if he doesnt have proper axle gear ratios and its an auto, wouldnt worry bout it
