Dilemma: G35 Coupe or BMW M3
Dilemma: G35 Coupe or BMW M3
I have a small dilemma, could possibly be the biggest choice i make this year. My dad agreed that he would put a down payment for my next car that can be upto $36000. There are a lot of choices but i have my preferences. There are only two choices, i will not think otherwise
I could either get
1. A brand new G35 coupe
2. A 2002 M3 with about 45000 miles on it.
When it comes to performance the M3 wins hands down. 333Horses!!! accompanied by a beautiful smg transmission. The G35 however comes with a 4 year maintenance package.
Both of them are beautiful cars and i would love to have either one. But kif you guys were to make a choice for me, which one would you chose and why?

I would make sure the M3 has all the recalls done on it and you don't have to deal with any of that right. I know they just recalled the recall rod bearings and they have to rebuild the engine to fix it. And there are a few other small fixes. My boss has an M3 and he just got the newest rod bearings stright from Munich, he is one of the first to get the newest bearings. So expect there to be some more recalls on the M3, that engine pushes the limits so much that some parts need some fixing still.
But I would still go with the M3, especially with the SMG tranny, you can't find a better car for the money.

no question, go with the M3...a word of advice though, I see those cars come in every so often to get new low profile tires mounted...that Bimmer rim has what we call an a-symetrical drop center...to the average joe that means absolutely nothing, but to us it means it's the hardest ****ing tire to demount and mount EVER! even with the new hunter machines we have it is nearly impossible to do quickly, so prepared to get absolutely butt****ed when you try to get new tires mounted
Why is my vagina bleeding?

Anyhow If I had the opportunity,
I'd get the G35, because its brand spankin new. Its fast enough and looks very sleek. 45,000 miles isn't exactly a very low mileage.

i would say an m3, but 45k miles is a lot for a 2002 car. thats something to watch for. ive been looking for a 99 year car and ive been finding milage in the 20 and low 30k range...and thats for a 99. 45 for a 2002....nah. go with the g35 or find a better m3.
i love m3's but 45000 miles is a buttload. who is going to pay for it when it breaks down after the warranty expires? its going to be mad expensive. i would get the g35 only because of the warranty.

Why not go out and drive the cars you are looking at instead of asking people on here what they think.. 90% of them have never driven these cars so they have no opinion on how they drive..
g35. bad expierence with used cars in this family. if your 100% sure that m3 was owned with proper care and maintance, then that may be a rare choice.
me personally, i always like the g35 (2 door that is).
but also you gotta pay for fees and tax when buying a new car ..err

An 02 M3 w/ 45K on it is still going to retail about $5-7K more than a brand new G35, at least around here. If the M3 had a good history i.e. one owner, older owner, garaged etc... I would go with that. Although the G35 is a nice ride also.
Personally if your Dad is putting down a payment, you obviously cannot afford it, so I wouldn't get either. Drive your Civic, save the $$ and buy something like this after a few years. I can't imagine the insurance on an M3 for a 20 year old male.

Get the g35. My buddy has one and sure it isn't as fast as an M3 but it is plently fast for the average driver. Also handles like a dream!
Plus it is brand new! Not a 2 year old car with 45 grand on it...
Go with something more reliable, you get to break in the engine, you get to maintain it. There is no question as to whether the car was properly handled before you owned it. Also if anything does happen Infiniti Dealerships are the nicest dealerships around and you have a warantee...
All the buttheads just spitting out M3 aren't thinking about the downside to taking the risk of have a vehicle that already has 45,000 miles on it...just think someone went out and drove the **** out of it and beat it all to hell for two years then turned it in for another car, I garantee it because that is what most M3 drivers do.
