properties of aluminum tape?

i read somewhere on superhonda (i think it was a reply to my own post), that the metal tubing in after market intakes makes the intake "growl," as well as the hardness of the materials used in the piping, etc. i asked this because my all plastic intake wasnt "growling," rather it was just deep sounding throughout

FYI my custom intake thingy (piece of junk, just was havin a little creative fun time ) is out of the car and inthe garbage.

anyways.... on to the question.

i never really thought about it but i have this roll of aluminum tape that i was using to make my book covers all shinny and was wondering...

since the aluminum that makes up after market intakes is somewhat responsible for the "growl" of the intake sound, would aluminum tape have the same acoustic properties? (if i lined the inside of a damn plastic tube, not that im gonna, with aluminum tape, would it sound different if this tube was used for an intake on a car)?

haha this is dumb,.....

Haha. Just get a real intake, although yours was nice looking. Get a higher flow S&B cone filter for more sound. My plastic K&N fipk makes tons of noise and it's plastic. It's lower toned instead of ricey like AEM, but still very nice.

oh yeah i forgot about the filter in terms of sound.

good thinking.

i read somehwer in team-integra about some guy gettin an oversized filter and it was waaaay louder than the standard sized AEM. did your FIPK II growl or was it just real deep?

It kinda does both. A deep growl, but gets louder the more you press the gas. I'll let you know if the S&B filter makes any difference. Remember that the ecu takes a few days to relearn fuel curves. I didn't notice any difference until a couple days after the intake install.

yeah i want it to be loud, but not just a deeper sounding type sound from the intake. i want a growl. if i wanted just a deep deafening tone, i wouldve just taken the intake resonator out. i want growl!!!
