My friend Jay knows a kid with a completly stock 93 or 96 Civic Si. This kid wants to race me and I would like to know my chances of winning. I have a 100% stock 2001 Civic Ex, four door, and its a five speed.

ok they are good, but it also depends on how well ur driving, a buddy of mine had a 94 civic dx with the minime swap in it (Si sohc motor) and it was virtually bone stock cept for like an intake and exhaust, well i had a bone stock 03 ex at sedan at the time, and i lost by about 1 1/2 car lengths (he did get me off the line hardcore, buts thats because i drive an at)

I say it's a drivers race. Power to weight ratio would be in his favor (not by too much).... but you never know.
But if it's for FUN, just go for it and enjoy yourself.

You will never really know unless you race him. They are both stock and depending on the driver. I raced a 94 si hb back then and beat him the both time we raced. He had intake and I was stock, 02 ex coupe.
As DexMan put it, "You will never really know unless you race him." Just work on your launch and shifting as quickly as possible and it could be your race to win. I'd just like to encourage you to have your race at the track and not out on the street. Always remember that the cops could be hiding around the next bend.
