You will be fine. Detroit City is a pot hole invested dump but if you are careful and watchout you should be fine. I suggest putting on your stock steelies and tires for winter driving though.
haha i agree. detroit roads are crap. you drive around and will learn where the potholes, dips, bumps, and rough areas are. trust me it hurts whenever i hit a bump. kinda like when mom slaps your hand for trying to grab something. iono, i have a 1.8" drop but seems more like a 2" drop and was fine during the winter. and dont get mad when you see a sticker of calvin pee'ing on import, honda, or wutever. michigan people are so boring they cant think of any original stickers to put on. i think im gonna move back to houston, this place sucks ***.

Just messing with you man. I agree that Downriver is boring. However...I spent the weekend in St. Ignace and it was pretty boring too except for the thousands of Honda Goldwings there for a poker run. LOL well, im going to College for Creative Studies (a block from wayne state). when i was in detroit i went to ann arbor<<(if it's called that) royal oak, birmingham and windsor. i went to school there for a year but never had a car. now on the other hand im getting it shipped up. it should be there september 4th. i guess i have to face the fact that detroit sucks.. but are there any places that give michigan a good name? any places i should try going to? cool places to eat, shop(aside from somerset?) and simply have a good time? what do u guys do in the winter? stay indoors? lol alote of questions! sorry-

Well in the Winter there is not much to do car related. I for one play a lot of pool and poker in the winter and I know I have seen huyqvu in GreekTown Casino a time or two
. A good idea for you would be to sign up to www.xceedspeed.com and introduce yourself. LOTS of Detroit area guys on that board since it is just Michigan based. There is usually gatherings in the winter all the time. I try and get some people off of xceedspeed.com to meet up once a week for a pool night in the winter. We usually get some people to come to those.
EDIT: And don't forget to sign up to my site... www.michigancivics.com
It is a small and slow site though.

It is a small and slow site though. damn bobby why are you stalking me? haha. im not that far out of detroit. i think im somewhere near bobby i think. some stuff i have seen people do that i dont in the winter: ice fishing, skiing, and the old time favorite of snow shoveling. i heard going up north to snow mobile is suppose to be fun. too cold for me. theres always dave and busters. kinda far from where i am, but i have friends that live near there so i stay over if its too late. then there are some club. i dont club much. too many grease monkey cocky "hey budthy you want to see my 22"s on my escalade" ****. so best bet, find yourself a cutie movie buddy. i found me one
. who would of thought i liked downriver chicks.
. who would of thought i liked downriver chicks. ^^^ lol- that seems like my best bet cuz i hate the cold. oh well....does she have a sister-lol just playin' any other advice guys? some of my friends got thier cars broken into a couple of times>> happen to u?
absolutely nothing. people in general are unfriendly. roads sux even though it gets repaired the year before. 95% of girls are either trashy or stuckup gold diggers. nowhere to go hang out. you get the random buy american when driving. the malls sux. im just comparing detroit to houston so thats my take on this crap hole they call michigan. believe me, i would move if i had the chance, but things are not falling in place. i have only met a handful of people i would actually want to hang out with. so good luck on your studies here. damn i really do hate this place.
why cant u go back to houston? i go to texas every 2years and i like it alote. my uncle is stationed in ft worth. so i go to schliterban water park, san antonio wich is really nice and just travel the state.....so why u there? i know its not the weather!
well i don't know about all that.. to me the city is ok it just depends on where u go. it's not all crime like u see on t.v. malls are ok. down town is hype. then there is bell island too.. that's off the hook. the city is what u make of it
cant go back because i wouldnt goto work. too much to do and so many people. i had a badass job at compaq back then. worked for about 3 months and then i quit. was having too much fun going out. im here just cause its boring and i can hold a steady job. thats about the only thing holding me back. might go back in 3 years tho.

I have never been skiing but I know a lot of people do. I think you might have to drive a little bit to find a good place to ski but I could be wrong.....Sorry, I was no help was I? LOL
DUDE... I am applying to CCS right now! I took classes there all last year durin the school year and i took their summer program for industrial design. I met some big people in the auto industry and it was one of the coolest things i have ever done. I know some good places to ski. Alpine and Brighton are the best, but they are a good hour drive from downtown area. If you have ever gone out west like oregon you are going to laugh at our HILLS. They mostly suck, but whatever. Best place to ski in michigan is Boyne highlands but that is far up north.
