Iridium spark plugs....messing up my engine?
Ever since I installed Denso Iridium spark plugs on my Civic (03 EX/28,000 miles), It has been a little tougher to start (it turns over longer before it starts up), and I swear my power band is all F-ed up. In 2nd gear mainly, as I accelerate I feel a lot of valleys in the powerband that were not there before. It's almost as if I'm letting of the gas a little as I accelerate, but I'm not. I'm going to put my old ones back in and see if it helps.

Yup, both of the above. You have to use a torque wrench. I like my iridiums, but they're NGK and make the engine run way better. And yes, I've measured the voltage of regular to iridum, and the iridiums use alot less power. But if the densos are messing up, try putting back the stock double platinums.
Over/Under torquing by a couple foot pounds does not affect performance of the vehicle in any way. You won't feel any difference in engine performance either way. The only reason a torque is specified is to prevent stripping of the threads in the aluminum head. Most mechanics don't install sparkplugs using a torque wrench.
I had the same problem with denso iridiums ... however, I never torqued them properly (lack of torque wrench) ...
but maybe I'll go with ngk's soon ... I'm not a big fan of denso's needle-tip spark plug
