Any info on the JBL BPX 1100.1 amp
to much money for what you get....you can get most of those features with JL 1000/1 or the Xtant X1001. they both feature switching power supplys, the JL will do power into any ohm load....why spend a grand on that amp?

Yeah, I wouldn't spend a $1000 on it...I kept telling myself that I would wait until it went down to $500. I am gonna try and price match it at Sounddomain and see what I can get it for.

Voltage is more or less a constant... not always of course, but in a car, everything is 12v.
Current is what is really the power behind electrical devices, the more current that your amp draws, the louder it is.

no sir, his question was more in depth about amplifier topology
amps like jl 1000/1's, and the jbl's have 2 entirely different sets of rails inside the amplifier. one provides high voltage, one provides high current. thats how youre able to reach that high of power at the different loads.
remember P = IV, so 100 volts at 10 amps = 1000 watts, or, 100 amps at 10 volts = 1000 watts
IIRC the lower impedances switch the amp to high current mode, whereas the high voltage is at high impedance
dont ask me to get into more detail, im not an expert, you want more, go ask thylantr in the technical forum at caraudioforum.com and he'll talk your ear off

Nevermind, my sounddomain pricematch of Sounddomain got denied!!
...that was the first time ever that I have had a pricematch denied...what a bummer!!! I already had plans for my system too.
I would buy from Ike, but I don't trust that their stuff is new ever since I had bought my quarts from them (which looked used, and all the plastic bags in the box were ripped open).
...I guess I'll stick with my old JBL...is it really all that bad?

im thinking of selling my betteraudio 1600m1
just considering it though
1580x1 @ 1 ohm real life rms
24 db xo and subsonic, phase control, remote gain, very simple looking, no bling, not excessively large, very efficient, and sounds damn nice for a class d

They give you a reason when they don't...and there reason was because Ikesound is not an authorizrd dealer of JBL products.
The funny thing is that Sounddomain has never denied a pricematch from Ikesound before (or anywhere for that matter) foe me.
...Maybe because Ikesound sells it for $477, and sounddomain sells it for $1000
...I'm bummed though...I just would like to have matching amps, you know.

So what is the diffence between my amp now and those new amps...of any class D amps for that matter (besides being able to put out the same power at 4 ohms, and being more stable at lower voltage rates)?
...and it all the new stuff worth it if I already have a good x-over to make up for the lousy JBL crossover?
