Ya I don't street race, I meant on the track. I'm only gonna have one street race though because I don't wanna drive an hour to see if I can beat my friends SI...and no launching we're gonna do it off a roll on the freeway :-)

If your launching on firestones, launch at 3k - 3500 rpms. If you have aftermarket tires, you have to launch at what you want, then you have a choice. If you had lots of tire spin, bring it down 500 rpms on the next launch. If you hooked, try going up 500 rpms and see if you still hook. Burning out is a good idea to warm up the tires before a launch.

btw, I launch at about 4k rpms with my setup.

Farage is on a distinguished road
i have an automatic. bleh... launching is carried out by mashing the brake pedal to the floor and stomping the gas pedal to about 3000 rpm where the brakes are released and my baby surges forward with a slight chirp of tires. then one can really see how slow it is but thats how i launch.

Hmm... I was "launching" at 2500 on stock tires... above 3000 on my new tires.

i launch at 6k on the second yellow light or the third (depending on the slickness of the track) on the tree... by the time the tires stop spinning and grab the light is green and i'm off. best time as of yet is 16.3 with '02 lx 5 speed (Intake/Header/Muffler)

jttegx has a spectacular aura aboutjttegx has a spectacular aura about
when you check your tire pressure, make sure you check it during a cold, chilly weather day because heat expands. the stock crapstones are 30psi, what the owner recommends/requires? i have mines at nearly 33psi and it 'looks' flat but im afraid to raise the pressure because i always get this feeling my tires will just pop. and a poor man like me doesnt need anything like that
