Integra Swap Question - 1991

Hey guys

My friend has a 91 inetgra and was wondering what his options were. I can't open up the hasport site for some reason, so I'm not sure what engine mounts they offer.

What's the cheapest way he can get his car running again? currently, one cylinder is dead. He's thinking about a swap, but might just sell the car. He can get another 91 engine for $500. I suggested a rebuild using parts from his current engine, and the new one.

Or, if a swap is relatively cheap, the car can breath fire again through a B series of any sort (16 or 18).

Any help would be great.

Thanks

The 91 already has a B18B in it more than likely. Any B series motor should go into that chassis without an issue as to motor mounts.

He has an LS, so I don't think it's VTEC...but it's still a B series?

I'll have to search for an engine code web page.

Thanks taz757...I appreciate the insight. You're right, a B is a B, is a B. Thanks!

He's got an LS? Then it's a B18B. That's a non-VTEC motor.

Anything B18C has VTEC on it.

Tell him to get a B20 and be done with it.

The only thing I don't know is were DAs cable clutches still or did they go hydraulic?
If its cable, you can use cable b16s, if its already hydro, then anything will work.
Sure fit would be a B17 from a 90-93 GSR, but you could also use a B16 or 18 from a later model.

LS Non-vtec motors can hold a lot of power. But I am sure any b series would fit. Maybe a b18c5 or c1?

Civic6-Speed can only hope to improve
I think a b18c5 cause thats what my friend had swapped into his integra. I dont think its a 91 though. Its pretty quick with simple mods though.

liljoe is an unknown quantity at this point
Just get another b18b and put it in there. You don't really want a B16, the b18 will be a stronger engine, and a lot cheaper.
