magnaflow is exactly what you're looking for. Nice growl, but not too loud or obtrusive at cruising speeds. Yes, it is a straight forward bolt on mod. I am 90% sure that the 01-03 will fit the '04; all they changed are the bumpers/lights, right? Go with the magnaflow.

I think he is just playing around. But APC tips would be the most economical for sure, might as well stick an old coffee can for good measure.

only if it's the cause of the problem. In other words, if your a/c stops working, the cat-back doesn't void your warranty. I think he was kidding about the tip. I would e-mail magnaflow about fitting the '04 if I were you.

Im leaning towards magnaflow as well. I noticed that the application is the same for DX/LX/EX. I thought you would need to change some LX parts to EX parts to make the exhaust fit?!

1. Hi-Flow cat that will be located on the bottom of the engine as opposed to having it located on the LX header.
2. EX swaybar ($35 plus shipping)
3. Downpipe/Frontpipe
4. EX Header

no no no. when you buy the magnaflow kit it comes with an extra peice to accomodate for the LX. everything is in the kit. no need to buy extra parts or anything. no need to do an lx to ex conversion. straight bolt on. i promise. i have 03. i have lx. i have this exhaust.

ahhh, thanks man.

So if I opt to LX to EX, then its also possible with this set-up then.

Im going for I/H/E and DC Sports header doesnt have an LX application. Does OBX does? Wait, OBX may be cheaper for the set-up. Let the eBay browsing begin!

edit: OBX has LX application and much cheaper!!!! bwahahahaha

Im so happy, pardon me.

edit #2: The OBX header for LX eliminates the cat? hmmm, not good in CALI. I guess that is why Im leaning on getting DX/LX to EX so I can get the RandomTech hi-flow cat too.

reytito, whats ur set-up? Do you have an aftermarket header?

I cant. He's got an 04 but its an EX

I need 04 LX.

I think my speculations are correct for the LX to be able to keep a cat-converter.

I think...

of course you can keep the cat. the cat on lx sits below the header. on ex, cat is further down the exhaust. the extra peice in the magnaflow exhaust for the LX is an extra length of piping that makes up for the difference. if it fits on an 04 ex, it'll fit on 04 lx.

I thought the cat-converter is on the header itself? I thought I wasnt able to keep my cat-converter on my LX if I were to buy an LX aftermarket header?

Oh well, its too late now since I just ordered the MagnaFlow with RandomTech hi-flow cat from dezod.

I also ordered an EX swaybar from another site, $36.23 shipped

next up:

a cheap-o OBX EX SS header. And a K&N FIPK.

all of these parts will be up for sale in 12 months. Im trading my 04 next year any one got dibs on it? hahahahaha

Kamikaze, alrighty, thanks man.

But they're $250 from importparts and I only need to use them for 12months. Any other place to get 'em cheaper? I cant find one from eBay

Yeah. But get a thermal exhaust if you want a low toned sound. I only have the rear section and it's still loud.

$10 plus shipping, its going to cost the same for me.

But you should post it in For Sale/Trade because I looked around that Forum and I couldnt find any one selling theirs.

antok86, Yes. RandomTech is an Hi-Flow Cat-Converter. But it only fits EX applications.
