Insurance Claims

Has anybody ever made an insurance claim on a modified car? I was just wondering what they're going to say about my body kit. My car got hit on the weekend.

from what i've heard.

they will definitely increase your rates.

by insurance rules.. you're suppose to notify them if you make any changes.

where was your car hit?

if possible, get the other person to pay for it.. or yourself.

my 2cents.
g'luck

yeah I think it depends on the insurance company, Ive heard of some that wouldnt cover anything after a car gets totally wrecked just because it was lowered and they didnt inform the insurance company that it was. If you can get the guy that hit you to pay cash or pay outta your own poket

go to a body shop that will take care of your car for you and order stock parts they will change the money used on OEM parts and buy aftermarket parts

well you gotta wait for teh appraiser to check teh damage.. and its up to him if he'll let the company cover your loses of aftermarket parts.. from what i know any aftermarket parts should be notified to teh INS company.. or taken to a apprsier to do a legal appraisal so so the insurence will know what you have on your car.. but yea rates doe go up a bit for aftermarket parts..oohh.. also keep those receipts they come in handy

I have to make the claim they're not paying, accident report and claim has been sent. But they called me to fax over a estimate, I'm thinking they won't send an appraiser since the insurance company is based out of Toronto. But if he does come I'll be kissing some a@#. I'll call the body kit in a few months so this doesn't happen again. Yeah and the shop said I caould've brought the kit in 100 peices as long as it's all there they can rebuild it, so no problems with fixing that.
