So Calers, beware of cops due to your TINTED FRONT-SIDE WINDOWS
Today I was at the court parking lot, where an officer was getting out of his black and white and he walked up to me and said...
Aren't those tints a little dark?
I go, "Yeah, I know"
Then he says, "You better take them off there, it's not a correctable violation anymore, it's a set fine of $250 per offense"
Since I was parked listening to the radio, he couldn't write me a ticket I guess.. but damn.. i have 5% all the way around...
Anybody got ticketed w/ a fine for tints yet???

Yeah.. i wonder if i should go lighter in front, or just none at all in front? I know it's illegal PERIOD to have anything in front.. but hey maybe if there's a contrast, the cop will give me a break
Titanium Metallic. You got a problem with that?

There is a way to get away with the super dark front tints. Go to your eye doctor and ask him politely if he can write you a note that you can take to the DMV. Mine did because I have a messed up right eye, but I dont have tint yet. But when I do. . .

a punk **** cop popped me when i wasnt speeding, but he gave me a speeding ticket and a tint ticket. I got the letter in the mail as usual and it came out to 180$ so I know for a fact that tint isn't a $250 fine alone.

I always say this... but i dont wanna jinx myself.
however, i've never gotten hasseled by a cop. never a single pull over or ticket. and my car...is a pretty damn prime example of a car you'd wanna pull over if you were a cop. I've driven past cops, pulled up next to them, everything, nothing's ever happened. and regarding my clean record so far...these days im beggining to owe a lot due in part of the fact that I have no tint on my car. Just a theory i suppose. But i think having tint...makes cops think you have something to hide. also, it's an easy and verrrry obvious thing to just make them think about the thought of pulling you over. so that they can give you more tickets for other things on your car.
I dont know but...yeah. Just seems to be that way in my case. No tint=No pull-overs or tickets . Hopefully it stays that way
oh by the way...Abe, i think i saw you tonight around 11:30 (wednesday). driving on brookhurst turning into some complex. I could tell it was you cuz of your EBP Color, super dropped, and your velox's will polish lip. like mine! yes.

26708 - obstructed view through windshield or forward windows by any object or material
(a)1 VC - tinted windows
CA law says that you can't your front driver and passenger windows tinted, but the others can be tinted. Tint has always been PC to stop drivers. It leads to good arrests especially if there's dope in the vehicle.
For those of you who didn't put your front license plates on as well, that's also another thing you can get cited for.
It's only an infraction but still, it's a ticket.
P.S. Yes it's correctable, so you just go to a sherriff's station or a local CHP office and show them proof that you have "fixed" the problem.
Sorry to go off the subject, but you won't believe how many unlicensed drivers from front plate violations, tint, cracked windshields, not wearing seatbelts we've found from those stops. The unlicensed driver who causes an accident makes all other licensed driver's insurances rates go up. So think twice if you drive and are unlicensed or if your license was suspended or revoked. This isn't correctable btw, it's a misdemeanor.

My car is slammed, with exhaust and kit, and the tint and stereo blasting....maybe its cuz im a girl, maybe its cuz the cops around me are cool...i don't know. but i fly past the cop shop all the time, and nothing. i don't even get second looks.
and this is the first i heard that its no longer a fix it, but a fine.....

Hey that's just what the good 'ol LAPD officer told me. BTW, 02EXCoupeGuy, when talking about cops pulling over people, you referred to yourself as "We've"... are you a cop??
