HKS Turbo Kit for the D17?
Does anybody know what this is all about? I was poking around dezod.com for a new HKS filter for my SRI, and I happened across this kit. Supposedly it's going to be available sometime 2006. Any rumors out of HKS what's up with that? Or is this a kit pieced together by dezod himself?
read it "We use all quality components such as Blitz, HKS, Spearco, Turbonetics, Denso, Honda OEM, Tial...Just to name a few. The stage 1 will include the following components"

Ok, guys.....to give you the low down on the kit, here is how it goes. The kit is being pieces together through extensive R&D on our end. All the testing parameters and such will all be done in house. We are working closely with some local manufacturers for items such as the downpipe, manifold, etc. We will have dyno results available upon completion of the prototype. We will test driveability as well. The car that we are putting it on is my 2001 Civic EX, which is daily driven. So we will see if any flaws or issues need to be accounted for on daily driving. I can not disclose details at this point, but we will also have a press release in Import Tuner and Super Street covering the kit, the month it will be released. The ETA should say Spring of 2005, not 2006. Let me correct that. Damn you Ken....Do I always have to doubled check your work. j/k

Besides April of 2005 is not that far off. Perfection takes time to acheive.

If you need an AT car, I'll definately be glad to be a test subject for you. I wouldn't mind a little sponsorship tossed this way.

We will have an auto version as well as 5 spd version or atleast discounts toward tranny coolers or clutch & flywheel packages. We are not rushing the production of it. This takes time, and research. Too many things we have saw go wrong with other kits and manufacturers. We are trying to avoid that.

Don't forget about us 5 spd LX drivers, I think there are more of us (LX) than there are of you (EX) on this site.

Well part of the legality is maintaining a functioning Catalytic converter and using O2 sensors. We are attempting to keep these, but at this point, no guarantees can be made. As of right now, it is like any other turbo kit, off road use only.

We are aiming for 180-200 HP off of 6PSI on a stock motor. The turbo can support up to 350HP...

plugs, timer, controler, everything that is missing from the sf kit
