New Racing Pulley for the D17
New Racing Pulley for the D17
We are working on a new Pulley system for the D17 that will be SFI approved.
Not just gonna be a basic CNC machined pulley and sold out there. This will be a well balanced crank pulley that will be SFI/NHRA approved before its released. I assume everyone wants the style that still include the accessories. Im sure most dont need a Race Pulley. ??

Here's an example of the B-Series Racing Pulley without power steering.

well will, i am well aware of your company's rep and would love to do business with you........ but honestly, i think you are wasting your time. Afther the DH racing experience with a crank pulley and 40 ppl got burned....... i don't see you selling any, sorry
ya totally understand the experiences that occured by members of the board. but its not just an application for the D17. this is a complete production run for Most Honda motors as well. and the D17 is just something we included in it.
We see ourselves different from many of the companies out there. we want parts that work and worth the money. Not just something to make the quick dollar you know. We wouldnt put our name next to any brand that we think is inferior. And we for sure wont make any outrageous HP claims. We're realistic and many wont be impressed by the great numbers but thats just the plain truth of it all. No BS, just real numbers.

If your pulley is lacking a harmonic dampener, it should be considered solely for race applications. Please let people know this is the case before selling it. But I've heard good things about your company none the less.
I agree with you Civic01vtec after that experience with DH I think that it's gonna be very difficult to market that product to fellow 7th gen's. But I trust that exospeed will live up to their name and produce a good working pulley.

It's good to have a real company making products for our cars.
For the pulley, I know the stock one has a rubber dampener in the middle. Will yours be something similar to that?

Well you said no outrageous claims.. but how about an estimate? at least 3-5 at the wheels maybe 8 at the crank or something?
And if its dampened there would be no reason for anyone not to buy it
I had one on my last car and you kinda felt like the engine didnt struggle to spin up as much, and the top end was greatly improved.

what brand of Pulley did you have before? and what was the setup?
Ershal: Still in the design stages right now for the D-series. we are not going to rush this and have it in 2 months, its going to take awhile to send to the SFI Foundation to get tested and approved and then packaging materials still have to be completed. so hold on tight. i'll update once its all ready to go.

I had a 2002 Nissan sentra ser 2.5l And i purchased a pulley from Unorthodox racing. It was just a crank pulley not accessory pullies also. Dyno tested 7.7hp to the wheels, which eventhough it is slight you could notice it. And they didnt include a rubber inner part to the pulley but, had some kind of design on it that kept it balanced.
(eventhough others argued that the engine was internally balanced.)
Anyways true, you would not want to estimate 15 hp, and then only produce 3. You would have some pissed off people, but wouldnt at least 5 be safe to say ?
And hey thanks for the quick reply.. good way to get customers, whenever i finally get a 7th gen I know where I'm getting my products.

I think people will buy one if:
1. You provide dyno results of before and after on the same car that is a 7th gen. You can't go "oh, this pulley gave +20hp on an Integra type-R" but not test it on our cars. It also has to be the same car, with no other mods. You can't go "here's a stock civic: 100hp. Here's a turbo civic WITH OUR PULLEY: 170hp. Our pulley gives +70hp!!!"
2. It has a harmonic dampener.
3. It's proven to be safe to the life of our engines.

I'm in for sure if there is a dyno, and lets us know how much we are getting for the money. and also it be safe for our cars. I know IONFIST just covered this so I just want to say I am with you in this.

Nice. I'll be getting one then. Don't know if you mentioned this, but will it be the same size as stock, just lighter?
Also, do you have plans to make other parts for our cars like throttle body/intake mani and that kind of stuff for NA cars. Thanks.
