Does the ne B&M shorten the throw in both the engagement and disengagement of the gears? Or is it like the Neuspeed that on shortens the throw on the gear engagement? Thanks.

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Since all short shift kits shorten the throw from the neutral position to any gear, then the distance traveled from that gear back to the neutral position should be that same exact distance. Once you have the car in gear, you travel the same exact path in the opposite direction to get it out of gear, thus making the throw on engagement and disengagement equal. Therefore, any short shift kit should shorten throw in both directions. On the other hand, you might be referring to side-to-side throw, in which neither the B&M or the Neuspeed reduce side-to-side throw. Both kits only reduce throw forward and backward, not side-to-side. I hope that answers your question. If you still need help please let me know. Thank you.

Justin

I guess what I mean is this.......Currently I have the Revo and that affects the engagement and disengagement of the gears when shifting, while the Neuspeed only affects the engagement. I just wanted to know if the B&M is like the Neuspeed and only affects the engagement or if it is like the Revo and affects both engagement and disengagement. Hope you understand what I am sayng. The Neuspeed, as mentioned by others on this forum who have owned it and installed it on their 7thgens have stated that it inly affects the engagement of the gears. Thanks.

Well, like I mentioned, I cannot see how a short shift kit can only affect engagement and not disengagement. Once you have engaged the gear, there is no way for you take a longer path back to the neutral position. You take the same path you took on engagement, only in the opposite direction? Does that make sense? It is not physically possible for you to move further for disengagement than you originally did on engagement. At any rate, I did speak to Neuspeed and B&M of which both told me their shift kits shorten throw in both directions. So, I'm not sure who said the Neuspeed does not shorten throw on disengagement, but they were mistaken. Hope that answers your question.
