assuming you drive at a constant speed, is it better to drive slower and stay on the road longer, or drive faster and get off the road sooner?

which one uses more gas?
i tried doing it in my head while i was driving, and it seemed that driving faster was better. i'm probably wrong though.

a constant 55-57 will give you the best gas mileage...

most of the time when two people leave from point A. to B. one is speading and the other isn't you save maybe a few minutes so why speed the whole way and waste gas?

Speeding in Phoenix has never bought me anything but a few minutes and tickets. Luckily I haven't had a ticket in about three years because I realized this and also got lucky a few times ;-).

If you want to save gas never accelerate too hard. Take off slowly.

fast and quick is the way to save gas. that why you get more on highways than around town.
