I had this on E-bay but got a nasty note from Macrovision about how it is against copyright laws yadda yadda to bypass thier coding so you can copy a DVD to VHS. I retorted that some people have to go through thier VCR to connect to the TV...and how it is legal to copy the DVDs that you legally own. They didn't want to hear it. Ebay pulled my listing and said if I reposted it my account would be suspended. SO I am offering it up to you guys and gals. It's a Sharp DV-740 that has the region coding and Macrovision taken off. It will also convery PAL signals to NTSC. Which is great if you like to order the newest Jackie Chan movies from China like I do. You can play a DVD from ANY region, convert it to NTSC then record it to VHS if you so desire. To keep my butt out of trouble I should say that it is ILLEGAL to copy movies that you have not purchased and I DO NOT CONDONE such activity. I only copied movies that I legally purchased. If interested let me know. I'll start the bidding at $30.00. If anyone wants any pics just ask.

Rep Power: 0 Wierd..My "users CP" never showed any replies to this thread...sorry cryption. I already sold the unit. If you want one I can send you the instructions to hack one with. Or I can get one from ebay...hack it..and send it to you. If you order one make sure and get a Sharp DV-740U. Usually about 40 bucks give or take.

Rep Power: 0 Ohhh.....it worked perfectly..I have hacked a few of these units and I love them. I own two of them personally. Fantastic picture and great sound. It has MP3 upscaling so you can play MP3 discs at 96khz instead of 48. Also plays VCDs and SVCDs. If your in the market for a new DVD player for not a lot of money...I highly reccomend checking out the DV-740. Even unhacked it's a great player. Hacked it's even better.
