I just found out today that i'll be stationed at Vandenberg air force base. I'll be moving up there this fall/winter.

2nd Lt. working as a civil engineering.

hows the housing, people, community, weather up there?

Um, no Vandenberg AFB is not near Lancaster, it is about 50 miles north of Santa Barbara, near Lompoc. The weather should be same as Santa Barbara since it is coastal. Expect overcast mornings and some foggy nights for winter. Temperature is moderate but gets a little nippy at the tail end of winter.

i live about 45 mins north of vandenberg afb. I live up in San Luis Obispo County.

Vandenberg is NICE, i was stationed there for a couple months. Much nicer than edwards. The housing is eh, alright, not as new as some of the facilities at edwards, the people community and weather is great!
