how long will a greddy last?
how long will a greddy last?
just a question for all of you: i am probably going to buy a greddy evo catback (used), and i was trying to figure out how long the piping will last before getting rusty, considering it's not all stainless steel. anybody has any idea? i live in chicago and winters get pretty harsh up there, so i'm wondering if it'd just be best to go with the all stainless steel magnaflow and forget about it. any feedback would be appreciated.

do you know if its aluminized or just plain steel? cause if its just steel, its gonna rust in the first winter... so before you install... spray it with a high temp paint, then rubber coating to protect it from the elements.. altho not sure if the rubber coating will help out much

Yeah, steel is going start rusting before winter. Hot, cold, hot, cold, wet. It'll be rusted by August if it's not started to rust already from being used.
Aluminum will last a little longer, but will really start to rust after winter.
Stainless is the shiiznet.

yeah, greddy2 is stainless steel, it's just that i was going to get the evo used for about 300shipped....vs. 600 for the new evo2. i could get the magnaflow for about 300 shipped too, and it's all stainless steel....i just haven't heard one, and i'm not quite sure as to how good the quality is.
anyhow, here's the material for the evo: Aluminized Steel with a full Stainless Muffler and Tip
addional suggestions will be appreciated....

This ebay scam has only had 2 negative feedbackers as opposed to 678 positive feedback replies; no neutrals. I just finished researching that. And shipping is only 60 bucks, so the max amount you would pay total is $480 to your door, with shipping insurance.
yeah i was looking at those...so you guys think that instead of going the cheap route and getting that $300 used EVO shipped to my door, i get a new, all stainless stell one and forget about it...it's about 160 dollar difference....i've been looking into the magnaflow catback as well, 304 shipped off of ebay....tough call.
