HKS Speed Limit Defencer (Speed Governer Bypass)
Anyone have this installed or know anything about it??? I know the speed governer is there for my own protection and all but it sucks when you're pushing 115 mph and the engine suddenly bogs...
i was always afraid that the speed governer would cut the fuel while boosting and blow my motor up so i'm seriously thinking about getting this.

this is assuming that i would work with our car, i have asked my shop about it and i was told no, in response to hitting governor while boosting, nothing happens, ive done it
Do u think it will work with our ECU? The only reason I dont think it will is because cant you not get rid of the rev-limiter? Or that the only way you can is to get the ecu reflashed? I dono... it would be cool if it works. Ive hit like 120ish before without it boging dono why.

^ no way you can with an LX. when im in 4th gear at 6800 im going around 115, then i shift to 5th and it gets up to about 116 then you can feel the car jolt as the fuel cut off kicks in at 5500 or so rpm

if you really want to go faster then 115 all you havto do is disconnect the speed sensor, it's in the back of the transmission close to the fire wall. if you disconnect the speedometer will not work and you will get a check engine light, but all you havto do is use a GPS to see how fast you are going and then disconnect your battery and reconnect it after 10 seconds to clear the code.

Yeah. . I thought everyone knew the EXs don't have a limiter, and the lower models all do. I haven't taken my car past like 110, because I know that it's not gonna go much more than that anyways and it's just not safe to do that. The limiter is all computer controlled, there isn't anything that you can simply remove, like on older cars. You can have the ECU flashed. As for this HKS thing, I have no idea. Would be cool if it did work though.

My guess (don't know since I haven't gone above 100 in my car) is that it is just a fuel cutout because you are approaching (or are on) the rev-limit. Again, this is just a guess - as I doubt that they would put a "speed governor" intentionally on the car. If thats the case - see my thread about using the E-manage to "compensate" for the ECU when it decides not to deliver more fuel to the engine. Beware, however, that by bypassing the rev-limiter you are seriously ready to fck some **** up....
well i hit right at 138 mph o the interstate onw day. took for ever to get there but it did. this is no b.s. with I/H/E and 17 in wheels. nothing else performance wise and the tires should have made it harder to go tht fast.

well I have an 02 ex sedan and I have hit 135 and never noticed it bogging down., its possible when I had my ecu sent off when my turbo was installed they changed something but so far not an issue although I have not been over 135 for fear .. lol
