thats how it is if you are running projector like your halo it heats up like a magnify glass well then when it heat up you blow your bulbs so do wut i do go get something that is like 3000k instead of 5 or 6000k
you will end blowing it up any way the more Ks the hotter it gets as of after market light bulb.

i have the same problem with my halos, i bought sylavania silver star bulbs and the bulbs were like 40 for the pair and they blew out within like two months
so your saying get bulbs that dont run as hot...like 3000k bulbs?

don't go to speed shops where they'll charge you $40 for a pair of no name bulbs. Order Mtecs or other popular aftermarket bulbs on www.ebay.com from a seller with good rep.

mtec highs/ mtec lows
mtec highs/ mtec lows
also make sure when your putting your bulbs in not to touch the bulbs with your bare hands. You put oil and stuff thats naturally on your hands and that will shorten bulb life a lot too. You probally already knew that though

H1 and H3 light bulb any kind of projector will heat a aftermaket light bulb unless you get the real deal HID then thats a diffrent story. but as of H4 the heat doesnt trap as much as the H1 and H3 due to that they are more likely to be projector and yes go for lower Ks like 3000k
that will work Sylavania Silver Star is good thats what im using now for a good 4 mths so I reconmend SS Star.

A word about color temp:
From what I have read, the color temperature of the bulb has nothing to do with heat. When a bulb manufacturer quotes 3000k it refers to the color spectrum in which the light from the bulb falls. The temperature, or how hot a bulb is, will be affected more by the wattage.
For example, a 55w 3000k bulb will get just as hot as a 55w 5400k bulb. However the 5400k will look more like real daylight.
See FAQ #5 at http://www.sylvania.com/auto/sstar_faq.htm

Is it your halo buring out or is the angel eye itself?? if the halo burns out you are so screwed unless you know how to take them apart and wire new leds with new resitors into the light itself.. i had that problem with the halo buring out and also the angel eye itself.. but i rewired the halo and it is running strong and gave it a nice touch with blue leds
My Silverstar bulb burnt out after like 3 months, but I attribute that to the fact that it was so wet outside and my cap popped off so it got water on it at some point. It is CRUCIAL not to touch the bulb glass, if you do, wipe it with an alcohol pad.
I just put another one in tonight, picked a set off Ebay for $20. The other one is still going strong so it must have been a fluke.
As for my Halo's they did burn out after like 3 days, but I pulled apart the lights and put brighter blue LEDs with bigger resistors and all is well. I made a DIY on it, but its not on the board anymore for some reason and it was never posted in the DIY section after I wrote up the whole thing with pictures and all. I have all the pictures too if you want to know how.

for me the projector bulbs burn out....not the halo lights.....and i didnt touch the bulb itself...cuz i know that will cause them to blow. im just wondering if it is soemthing wrong with the wiring with the projector.
what is the wattage on the bulb you are using. I had Naxos in there at first, good light but they were 125W. One blew after only a few weeks. I switched to Silverstars because they give a much whiter output and only 35W. To me anything over 80 could be to much.
i had the same ptrblem and to tell you the halo projection light are like crap i ended up selling my on e bay jsut cuz the bulbs kept burning up!!! It be sweet if the had halp light but wihtouth the projections so u can use your stock light or silverstar i got silverstars now on stock headlight i msut say very nice lol
I just put in 2 sets of the PIAA Plasma Spark Blue 7500K bulbs in my projectors... has anyone had any trouble with them blowing? They said that they don't put out as much heat, but put out alot more light. Just wondering... But, I'm actually about to swap my projector out and put in a HID projector from a Lexus IS300, so I won't have to worry about that too much longer.

silverstart h1 bulbs in my projectors low and high beam for a year now and have yet to blow. But when I had stock and ran xenon bulbs they blew about every 4 months ..
I had that problem with some aftermarket bulbs before. see here:
http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...ght=luks+metal
But I read a post on here about the Luks metal whites and they seem to last a long time.

I've had them in for about 6 months and no problems whatsoever. But be sure you order the correct wattage because with Luks if it says 110 watts its pure 110 watts. Our cars need the 55w
hope that helps.

i wouldnt wire them to the exisiting.. if you are going to replace the resistors replace everything then you wont have a problem with them blowing out since they all will be new it is safer and guarnted to last longer..
