Houston's 10 Minute Club
Hey whats up. I got a question for the people who live here in Houston. I was talking to this guy when he brought this "10 Minute Club" thing. I asked him what it was and he told me its this race thing here in houston. Its like a race with time where you have to do a full turn all around houston going thru 610. You start off and you have to be back before 10 minutes are up. It sounds crazy but i just wanted to ask to see if im not the only one whose heard this. It sounds kind of cool to me. What do you'all think.
supra maybe... but for a car to do it, top end would have to be insane... because you would need to be able to go from 180 back down to 90 or so if you came up to traffic then whenever you got to a open spot be able to punch it and get back up there again..
hat to burst ya'lls bubble, but there is no way that is humanly possible, whether its on a bike, in a car or on a moped.... the 610 loop is approx. 65 miles around...by my calculations, to do that in 10 minutes you'd be going somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 miles an hour, literally....

i dont think that its the full loop cause that is not possible to do. you would have to avg. 390+ miles per hour.. and i "think" the world record on a bike is at 220ish.
Interstate 610 is a 38 mile complete loop of the city of Houston, Texas. So if you went 380mph, I think thats how fast it would take to travel 38 miles in 10 min. Is that math right?

back from the dead.
It is the "20 min club" not the 10 min. Me on my pipe/commander 750gsxr and my friend on his hayabusa personally did it about 5 years ago. Never heard anyone doing it in a car but its definately possible you have to average 120mph.
Personally, I wouldnt do it again even if I was still in the "bike scene". The east side of 610 was pretty rough but think they fixed those issues over the years. It's more of ***** than skills...not saying you dont need skills. Not hard to do the speed but staying focused that long, other vehicles, and coming up on a car 170mph wondering if its a cop or not are the only issues. Best time to do it is about 3am during a weeknight.

Back from the dead again. I was looking for the specs on it but cant find em. Just did the run in 26m in my 05 Civic lx, so 20m is def doable but you gotta be booking it. I hit a couple of slow spots cause of traffic and what not but i was averaging between 100 - 110 mph. So totally realistic.
